  1. HPC - at TUKS Not sure who to talk to - just ask.
  2. Had a simlar problem with Avid - so I chamged to XT, but that`s besides the point. The problem with my brakes were that the opposing piston did not move equally, thus if you reset the pistons all the way back and you pull the lever one piston moves 3mm and the other only 2mm - its refered to as a lazy piston. What happens is that pads wear down as the piston starts getting "lazy" but when you fit new pads its a mess. I could not get the caliper moved far enough to the one side to centralize the rotor so this is what i did: Figure out which piston is lazy - the remove the pads and move both pistons all the way back. Then jam the faster moving piston with a tyre lever or screwdriver while you slowly pull the brake lever, preventing the faster moving piston, from moving - esentially just get the lazy piston to move 2mm or so. Now re-install the pads and wheel, make sure the caliper bolts are slightly loose. Pull and hold the brake lever while you tighten the caliper bolts. You should be cool like Fonzy now! If it still gives you a hard time - get XT/Hope Grow a Mo!
  3. It should be fine - just chec that the 600 does not use the W.I.N.D. system, I dont think it does so you should be ok. Just dbl check with a supplier

  11. Stay with XTR - or even XT - they are both better than Avid. Better stopping power and more reliable. Im the wrong guys to ask if you want Avid to come out tops - bad experiance
  12. I switched from Crossmark 2.1 front to Mountain King 2.2. Found that I can run the Mountain King at 1.8 bar where I use to have the Crossmarks at 2.0 - 2.1 bar. The Mountain king, to me, has a stronger sidewall so you can run it at a lower pressure which gave much better grip and seems to roll better too. But this is for XC - you might whant to get something even more aggresive for Freeride/all mountain if you need.
  13. The geomitry on the Goose is slightly more relaxed than most racers. I`ve had mine for 2 years now - good fun. No issues, it tackles everything you can throw at it. I even took off the garage door with it on the back of the pick-up - no damage to the goose. One of the better spec for your cash bikes around. Easy to upgrade aswell. Two sayings I live by - "Rock out with ya co*k out" - and - "The Goose it loose"
  14. There was a guys in Maitland that said he does that type of thing a while back. He does mostly motorbikes but cycles too - cant remember his name for the life of me!
