  2. still waiting for mine to be delivered - bloody postoffice strike
  3. Springs do not stretch, try swapping cleats around. They are made to have a bigger clearance on one side, think it is cleat with 2 dots are on left foot
  4. yipee, just the way i like to start the year - now if only I could actually win something!!
  5. Loaded rims also an option especially if you want some bling
  6. WTB rims - either the I19 or the I 23' with Hope hubs
  7. medium should be fine but do yourself a favour and get the Type 2 from the onset - better chain retention and less noise. aslo easier to remove and fit back wheel.
  8. Bearings still look fine
  9. Left or right side, broke one of my lenses and they (Bosal Koedoespoort) supplied me with a replacement unit. They dont supply individual lenses, you need to buy whole lens unit
  10. Recently replaced my XO jockeywheels with Hope jockey wheels as the chain started slipping from wheels causing chain to derail. No hassles thus far, hope they last longer than SRAM wheels
  11. Be carefull, Fox has issued a warning that if fitted in the manner depicted above the shaft does not get lubricted properly as all the oil lies at bottom of chamber. Might have wear and warranty issues
  12. Velolife in Menlyn at motorcity, next to Glasfit
  13. Might as well not have a saddle, cannot for a moment think that it would be comfortable
  14. Nothing which a pop rivet/cable tie cannot fix
  15. find someone who use Look pedals and bum some of their spare shims which comes with the Look cleats
  16. Some rotors have a minimum thickness stamped on them (Formula - 1.75mm). I would imagine other makes have similar guidelines. Measure with venier or similar instrument to ascertain thickness. Replace when it reaches those parameters.
  17. Flex in your frame over rocky sections causes chain to drop to smaller chainring
  18. Hopefully just bike tapering and not drink tapering, that would be downright foolish
  19. Agreed, it would make sense but for the price. @ R10/$ it would set you back close to R3 600 for the cluster. Mind you will however be able to change single cogs as and when they wear. Titanium Cogsets Speeds Gears Price Ordering # 8 11-36 $286.00 1136-8 8 11-38 $319.00 1138-8 8 11-39 $335.00 1139-8 9 11-36 $330.00 1136-9 9 11-38 $357.00 1138-9 9 11-39 $368.00 1139-9
  20. Done, bit superficial though
  21. i tried sourcing my Cane Creek replacement headset bearings from various bearing places without any success. They all tell me that the problem is that it is chambered on the one side and that their they do not have the distribution rights. Might have more sucess in importing them but then the shipping cost may outweigh what you would have paid at your LBS. one word of advice - shop around as bike shops do not charge a uniform price.
  22. Sram X9 - brilliant. Before I was riding a normal XO and experienced chain drops and chain slap on downhills and on uneven road surfaces but since fitting the Type 2 all of the above disappeared. Dont know why they dont come standard on bikes these days.
  23. Best to get 4 of them, one for each arm and leg to distribute the power evenly
  24. I agree, more a question of whether you will get spares.
