  1. My layman take on it is if their is still going to be bone growth going into the future it is beter to remove it as leaving it in woul inhibit the growth and lead to further fractures. However if you are done growing their is no need for removal
  2. They all become brittle after a while. Found easiest solution to be a bottle with wide enough opening, put chain in, cover with either diesel or parafin, put cap on, soak for an hour, shake vigorously. Afterwards I filter diesel to remove solids and some impurities. Diesel can be recycled for re-use later. Also took to alternate between 2 chains, soak one whilst I put other on for that week thereby reducing downtime and give you time to clean dirty one.
  3. Just take a dump before you go out riding, gauranteed to drop your weight by at least as much and would hardly cost you anything besides toiletpaper

  7. On the face of it it only seems as if outer sleeve is damaged, if it is not leaking you may get away with a patch job. however keep an eye on the patch to see whether it holds when pressure is applied under breaking. If it leaks rather replace the whole line

  9. Carefully remove seal by gently levering it past pawls ( depress them taking care not to lose them) . Clean the seal and refit, drip a couple of drops on lip of seal - not to much otherwise it will attract dust you only want to stop it becomming brittle which will happen if you dont service it. Worthwhile doing as new seals retail between R30-50.
