  1. Looks quite similar to my Tigre
  2. And keeping everyone else in the campsite awake with the rustling noise every time you move...
  3. I'm looking for a 26" rim brake wheel (rear), one of my wife's staff commutes on his bicycle, his rim has taken a beating and needs to be replaced. If you have something lying around, it will be appreciated.
  4. I can second this, I bought one of Rookie Sport's Cairbull Supercross helmets a while ago, great service, and happy with the product!
  5. Saw you out there this afternoon!
  6. He sounds like he’s narrating a wildlife documentary!
  7. Happy Birthday! May many more km's pass under your tyres, and may we continue to see many more pics of your rides!
  8. On the swing door note, I saw this the other day, which is very cool, skip forward to 1:00 on the video:
  9. Mine’s a 140mm 32mm stanchions, is the one bit that will need an upgrade when the bike budget allows. Though I think I’ve now found its sweet spot after lots of trial and error with pressures.
  10. Not serious trail riding by any stretch of the imagination, but I took mine for a spin around Thaba Trails on Sunday morning. Thaba is fairly rough, rocky with lots of short, steep ups and downs, the longer downhills are quite rocky too. I found the bike climbs really nicely, and on the downs it feels like I'm too slow for the bike, if that makes any sense. It's like the bike just wants to go faster and I'm holding back. As my confidence builds, I'll get off the brakes more and let it rip, it definately instills a lot of confidence. One thing I did find is that it requires quite a bit of "body english" to change direction, your riding style needs to be quite aggressive. I can see I'm going to have a lot of fun on this bike!
  11. I'm in Alberton, so just down the road. Will give you a shout and come and take one of your bikes for a spin. Were you not at Grumpy on Friday afternoon collecting some parts?
  12. I may just take up this offer. Whereabouts is your factory? If I'm not mistaken you're at the Heidelberg airfield?
  13. Been trying to DM you, but on this new Hub, I'm not sure if you're getting my messages, as I cannot find the sent messages, would like to chat about a potential opportunity!
  14. Winter in Joburg. Had to stop at the Zebra crossing.
  15. The last piece of the puzzle.
  16. I threw away some Carlton decals just the other day. My first race bike was a Carlton that my dad had painted black and got some decals for. The set I chucked were spares. The bike was later repainted pearl white and purple, with an attempt to replicate the Daccordi diamond paint effect.
  17. Yes... White, Red and Black.
  18. Have you come right yet? If not, I may have something that can work.
  19. Those remind me of my soccer boots that my dad ground the studs off and nailed cleats to (the ones with a slot in them), when I first started riding with toe clips.
  20. That hunkajunk behind it is what my wife got instead of a new couch, so that she can try to earn her keep... ???? CNC Laser Cutter/Engraver, fun toy/tool to have!
  21. Haha, I knew that comment was coming... How do you like the stand though...? May be available for sale soon.
  22. That looks eina, heal up soon!
  23. Finally managed to complete my build yesterday, have just been up and down the road with it to see that everything works as it should, will take it out for a proper ride on Saturday. Tried to keep the costs down, though bike bits have become very expensive (when available), had to beg, borrow and steal off my other bikes to get it done. Thanks to friends in high places, I could source everything I needed in times when stock availability has been a mission (apparently the rims are 1 of the last 2 pairs of Spank rims available in the country). Learnt some new stuff along the way, like lacing rims and hubs. Now to ride it...!
  24. No idea, will weigh it this weekend. Not going to be light though, the wheels are burly (though did come in at 1.89kg's, but with the 2.6 tyres and 150ml's of sealant in them, they are not light). The bike was built more as a budget build, but still ended up spending more than I wanted to, our hobby has become very expensive. I must say though, I'm very impressed with the quality of the new Deore components, average Joe like me does not really need XT, the Deore stuff is great.
  25. Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue! Hopefully some motivation to ride a bit more again!
