  1. Sintered in the front for reliable stopping in the wet. They don't fade easily. They might squeal a bit more, but if you are using Avid brakes, they will squeal anyway.
  2. Weight saving?
  3. My LBS used the headset from my Giant Anthem frame in the new Zula frame. So it seems nothing special.
  4. Ok, just collected my stuff from the PO. Got anxious a few hours too soon.
  5. OK, thanks for all the advice. This was the first time that I used Royal Mail. Before, my orders used to be over R3000 with free shipping. That must've been with Parcel Force which is why it was faster. I'll wait a bit longer then.
  6. My order was dispatched on Wednesday 16th Feb. Tomorrow it will be 3 weeks. I used the el-cheapo delivery method. Is this normal or should I get worried yet? I'm sure my previous orders took just under 2 weeks in the past. Just collected it an hour ago. Can relax now.
  7. I get FL at the local Spar. Also use it in the afternoon to keep the cravings at bay.
  8. Medlemon with 2 Sinutab ND tablets and then sweat it out. Works for me everytime.
  9. Been told I had it before but never confirmed. It struck again last year and I could not do anything phycical for over a month. Some days I could, but then I would wait for it to strike me down between 3hours and 2 days later. Not nice at all. My body would shut down, muscles go numb and some flu symptoms. Not nice at all. No headaches this time though. Had it 5 years ago for the 1st time.
  10. It would be great if someone can find out where this was done!
  11. I am in the same boat with a Reba shock. No leaks though. Was told to turf it. It still works very well, so I am keeping it for some reason.
  12. Make sure the shock is in the open position when you check the sag. Must not be on pro-pedal or locked out. 250PSi is freakin high. If you have rebound, set it slightly slower if you get pedal bob. The slower rebound will reduce the amount of boing-boing.
  13. Replacing XTR components won't cost much less (if any) than keeping the lefty in good nick. Not a fan of the Cannondale's components spec either. Try and ride both, then decide.
  14. Stick some VPS film on your next 705 screen. Then you can wipe the mud off without scratching the screen. Not sure if it will work on a touch screen though.
  15. I use Chain L and give it a few good wipes especially after a dusty ride. After a few rides I would add some Squirt and this then keeps the chain shiny. With Chain L you must only give each roller halve a drop and then a good wipe 30mins later. No need to warm it up, otherwise you apply too much.
  16. Cool, then I will go ahead and go for the 180mm discs. I'll keep an eye on the front quick release and maybe tighten them slightly more. Thanks for the advice and the possible dangers!
  17. With my new Zula to be built up this week I was wondering whether it is a good idea to fit a 180mm front brake disc to my wheels instead of the normal 160mm. I think there might be a weight gain with the disc, the caliper spacer and the fact that it will be the thick Shimano XT disc. I currently have a light weight Aligator disc (160mm) on. Is it a good idea?
  18. Link to the website: http://www.ergon-bike.com/us/en/product/gx1-leichtbau
  19. Does anyone use Ergon grips and is it worth it? I am looking specifically at the GX1 model which is fairly light. I like bar ends, but don't want to get the Ergon grip with the built-in bar ends as I remove them from time to time, depending on the terrain. Who sells them around here? I see you can get them on CRC.
  20. I need to have a full service done on Rocshox Reba. All bushes needs replacing and I have serious scuff marks on the stanchions. These will probably need replacing as well. I have had a full service done by the agents before and it set me back around R1300-00 I think. Has anyone ever had the stanchions replaced as well and what would the additional cost be? It might be better to replace the shock with a new one or what do you think?
  21. Also find out from the suppliers what the cost of the rear suspension linkages, bearings and bolts will set you back. You will have to replace these at some point and some makes are damn expensive.
  22. The Arione Wingflex gives me a numb weener after 45min. Using a carbon Ti rail Velo for the last 4 years and no problem. I find a saddle must be smooth to prevent chafing.
  23. Simply make your own and save money. Google the patent number on the Stans bottle and read the patent for the ingredients. Propolyne Glycol you get from the pharmacy (they might have to order for you), water you have, maize meal from Spar and latex from where-ever. Being doing it for almost 2 years and it works well.
  24. I only take mine off for XC races with many trees, otherwise I love them.
  25. Off topic, but how do you prevent your bottle from flying out of the holder on a bumpy ride? I often lose a bottle this way.
