  1. He will do my extreme make-over in August.
  2. Once the veins looks like that, the valves are shot inside the veins (non-return valve) and it serves almost no purpose. I would not like to have those transplanted anywhere but the medical waste bin.
  3. Have a look here. http://www.varicoseveins.co.za/
  4. Mostly in the genes and gets worse with age. Also shows more the leaner you are. I'm going for my operation just a few days after Trans Baviaans. The doc reckons it will improve the blood circulation in my legs apart from the cosmetic improvement.
  5. We were there last weeekend and they would not let us past the boom gate. We had to turn around and do the Elands river hill instead. Actually better training if you ask me, but around 18km x2 tar riding which is not so nice. Even getting onto the never ender would mean walking around 50m in 800mm deep water over the coarse way.
  6. Thanks, but he didn't give it back, we took it back.
  7. Well the LBS phoned this morning to tell me my replacement shorts are there. Good on you First Ascent!
  8. I wouldn't worry too much on what the pro's are riding. They get paid to ride a specific bike.
  9. I think that slit will come in handy just now.
  10. I can modify that question a bit and direct it to most of the 29er owners I know..
  11. Thanks Bennie. As jy my nie gewaarsku het nie, was ons ook nou op die waglys. Het dit net-net gemaak!
  12. Well if a Jag chassis was used and now a 5-series, I would'nt worry about the Chev engine making it a mongrel. Was at a stock car race years ago in Goodwood, when they had an American team out there. The commentator asked them why they all run Chev engines and not Ford, the answer was:" Ford engine engines heat up and then they blow up.." PS: Rather get Hitec Automotive here in PE to build you a proper replica.
  13. I would seriously consider putting a decent coat of clear laquer over that naked frame. When I was a student I used the same process to strip the ugly gold and black paint off my Alfa GTV's rims. It looked awesome and I got lotsa compliments on the outcome. Then I went to visit my sister in PE and the car stood outside for 3 days in the sea air. Those rims turned dull and ugly. I could never get it to shine again.
  14. I actually read the mags which I buy off the shelve. Subs eventually just gather dust. Besides, I dont want another cell phone pouch. I have a few already.
  15. I first joined the Hub many years ago on a different name but it was useless and everyone went off topic after the 3rd post. I stopped visiting. Then I joined again later when it was more moderated and it was actually possible to ask questions and get answers without having to go through 5 pages of okes fooling around. Moderators are necessary.
  16. I contacted FA for this same reason. The padding on my shorts are doing the same thing. They will try and blame you for using fabric softeners, which we never do. They told me to take it to my LBS and they will send it back to FA. The LBS reckons they have lots of these comebacks and FA is good at replacing them. Mine have 2 tears on the lycra which my wife repaired. They might have an issue with that. Normally on my older FA shorts and bibs the chamois outlasted the lycra. Now it is the other way round. I have a new pair of FA shorts which I bought 2 weeks ago. I have not used it and the labels are still on. If FA gives me Sh#t, I will exhange those for something else at the LBS. Cannot spend R400 every 8 months on a new pair of cycling shorts which I only use on long rides on weekends.
  17. 'n Nuwe manier om jou gat te sien!
  18. The article mentions routines 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b. I only see 1,2,3,4. Are these the same? What's Plate taps?
  19. Lots of speed bumps in Pots I see.
  20. I've long ago stopped inviting non-cyclists to braais. They are boring, and cannot contribute anything worth while during conversation. Then they would also ask stoopid questions like 'Why do y'all shave your legs??' WTF?
  21. I own a 2011 Zula, only one in PE that I'm aware of. PS: The Giant Anthem is definately one of the most common bikes out there. My previous bike was an anthem. At races like Attakwas etc you see many of them. The Zula is a better ride in my opinion, but a bit more pricey.
  22. If you want a grippy tyre on the front, modify your Crossmarks by removing the round knobblies on the outside edge of the tyre. You will only have the square knobs left. It take about 30mins or so, but worth it, especially on grassy and sandy corners.
  23. Ust: 2.0bar rear and 1.7bar front
  24. They might not be as grippy as a brand new crossmark, but are more consistant over its lifetime. A half worn crossmark is slippery like hell.
  25. My racing wheels have them front and rear. Not bad at all. Does not like mud too much. They last a bit longer than the crossmark.
