  1. Probably some kind of alloy not too many degrees from pewter, just about impossible to repair and make the screw full load bearing again. I'd glue the whole lot into place with Pratley steel, on the shaft and them put some into the screw how and tighten the screw with as much load as it can take currently. Or another option is perhaps using a pipe clamp to replace the clamping force of the screw, make 2 cut outs in the collar to allow it to be squeezed and compares onto the shaft.
  2. They are actually R649, biggest bargain when it comes to helmets and the build quality is first class: https://www.firstascent.co.za/rapid-cycling-helmet
  3. First ascent makes a really nice MTB helmet for around R700, actually the best fitting helmet I've ever had, far better than helmets that cost twice the price.
  4. First I've heard of that, does that mean they are only supposed to be used in concrete?
  5. I'd take it to a reputable Cannondale bike shop just to put your mind at ease. That's super pricey kit, I'd also want some peace of mind and to make sure the previous owner or LBS didn't do something to take it out of spec.
  6. Looks the same as Wish or any ebay seller, just pay with PayPal so you can easily get a refund if it never arrives. I'm assuming they ship with the Post Office? What are Post office delivery times like currently for Chinese orders?
  7. Nice looking bike, how much was it if you don't mind me asking? That gap does look mighty small, did the bike come specced with that groupset from the factory?
  8. Nice, the handles on the Vessel screwdrivers are great. How much are they on Amazon and do you have a link to it if possible?
  9. Yamalube waterproof grease is blue and available at any Yamaha dealer, pretty cheap as well last I bought it.
  10. Sorry to hear, that is getting all to common.
  11. How was it stolen?
  12. Did you do the insurance with Courier Guy?Because they don't cover 2nd goods and they won't explicitly tell you that but they'll take your money, you need to go dig in their T&C's to find that info. If something happened and you tried to claim their insurer would repudiate the claim. Seems the only way to have in transit insurance is under your own insurance policy.
  13. To show I'm not a lazy tyre kicker and to get first dibs it's good to ask pertinent questions when asking "Is it still available". And when people ask "Is it still available" I have programmed a shortcut into my phone's dictionary so if I type "ys" I get the option to auto type Hi, yes it is still available. Easy and possible on any smartphone, I use the Google Gboard keyboard.
  14. With all due respect that is being a little dramatic, they make probably 10's of millions of these watches, they will surely have some early failures. Unless you have looked around on Google and the series 6 has widespread issues?
  15. Oops, Hairy's fetish is out the closet... Nude men on ebikes [emoji14]
  16. No one is in that much of a hurry!? You may as well just drop the price on your own ad to that level and it'll sell quickly. The lower the price the faster it sells, many people(including my own dumbass at times) will buy things purely because they are bargains, a low price instantly and massively widens your market.
  17. That bike looks post WWII to me but I could be wrong.
  18. 115 x 34mm, it's just about ideal, the small Sabre is really handy in size in terms of being unobtrusive if you are walking around with it in your pocket but the Ballistol fits into your hand better, you can get a solid grip with your fingers and use your thumb to activate the sprayer. The increased volume is also a huge advantage, if I remember correctly it's twice the Sabre. It also fits into a pocket very easily just not as tiny as the Sabre
  19. Have good well lit pics, all the specs incl links to the item on a website if possible, ask realistic price and it's a no brainer, it will sell. Also selling is a waiting game unless you know the item is in high demand, finding the buyer that wants the exact item you are selling in that colour and size is a bit like finding a needle in a haystack. But what's the rush, put the ad up and leave it, if you've followed the aforementioned the buyers will come, all in good time. Drop the price slightly over time if needs be but if it was reasonable initially then not too much because the tit that eventually buys it will probably make an offer or pull the what's your best price bs and you need some space to feed the buyers "I got a bargain" twinge. Not all buyers do that but you have to plan for it!
  20. Sorry to hear that man. I'm assuming it took time for the pepper spray to migrate to your mucous membranes because from all my experiences it kicks in immediately if it gets a direct hit to your eyes, mouth or nose. Or maybe the adrenaline rush muted it somewhat initially which I doubt or more likely they used some shtty budget stuff(I have encountered that) with lower pepper concentration because the good stuff burns like a mofo from the instant it makes contact.
  21. Those sds drills are pretty much bullet proof, I've even seen new ones around the R1000 mark, from the cheapie brands but even those will beat an impact drill by a huge margin.
  22. I wonder if the op has informed his insurer of the loss of his bike, you are supposed to do so within 30days whether you claim or not. If the op's pro-boner law suit is thrown out of court due to being frivolous can he be held liable for covering the defendant's costs?
  23. As far as I understand it especially with the brushless impact driver it has a few desirable features that the normal impact driver doesn't have. One being torque control.
  24. I don't recall seeing this on the Hub, Strand cyclist got a knife in head, like sticking in the head, with pics. He survived https://www.bicycling.com/news/a25395419/cyclist-knife-in-head/
  25. I didn't look at the reviews myself I just commented relating to someone else's interpretation of them and that pushing 2 different seller's buttons with low ball offers to the extent they both felt the need to rate the guy negatively probably means the op is getting carried away with his low balling. Agreed the reviews wouldn't be "legal" going by the Hub's review guidelines.
