  1. I have used Genkem contact adhesive extensively and where there is a good even gap to repair then it works well but on shoes repairs that's often not the case which means a glue that's not pressure sensitive and has gap filling properties is a better option
  2. I have a pair of rather nice shoes where the sole is coming off, typically you only get one shot at getting a nice neat strong joint so what is the best glue to glue shoe soles back on? Pratley Wonda Fix seems like a good bet but I have never use it before, normally I use Contact adhesive or super glue, mixed results on either.
  3. The reality now is riding your bike on the road exposes you to hijack risk same as if you were in a vehicle, except you are a sitting duck on a bicycle with very little ability to accelerate or manoeuvre your way out of danger. Not that being hijacked in a vehicle may afford you that evasive action but at least you can probably get out of dodge if you spot them in time. The only positive on a bike is if you hand over everything quickly you may get away relatively unscathed, other than if they pushed you off the bike at speed or with a vehicle, which may result in broken bones, serious bruising and road rash. The ride becomes one of uncomfortable hyper vigilance. Having to treat every passerby I encounter as a potential criminal certainly takes the joy out of it.
  4. If you courier it how do you get around paying import duties when it arrives?
  5. I've been noticing this trend of breaking open garage doors to steal bikes, most garage doors are not very secure especially if it's one that's manual and locked with a key. Many garage doors even if locked will hop out the channel with a little bump and you are in.
  6. These kind of guys feel nothing just making new profiles when they get exposed but that is a point to consider.
  7. The disc is one of the worst, been there
  8. Yeah, the guy seems like your run of the mill ****, that amount of lying to the op was next level, only steps behind a full blown scammer.
  9. The key is don't do it with one hand, if it's tight inch it off with 2 hands. But then again there's usually only one hand free because the bike is trying to fall on you while you pump and fall onto a facebrick wall and put hell scratches in your priceless paintwork/stanchions, the stress just ratchets up and then BANG you skin your knuckles doing a basic thing like pulling the pump off and the ride hasn't even begun... Tinnitus

    So pretty much snake oil?
  11. I'm assuming the PPA knows that very little will be done to curb the crime so signage to warn unwitting cyclist's including visitors to the area probably isn't a bad thing..

    Tinnitus

Other than tinnitus do they make any perceivable difference to how things sound?
  13. From my experience those intuitions are normally pretty accurate and your evasive action probably saved you from a jacking attempt.
  14. That's only if it hasn't been withdrawn yet?
  15. I have had someone with a horn lean out a vehicle and blast it into my ear, I almost fell off the bike in surprise/fright, it was very sketchy and the laughter from the perps made it a good deal worse. I was flaming furious, if I had sufficient body mass and I could have caught up to the idiots car I would have beaten him to a pulp. I hope the rider takes this guy all the way, makes an example because that's the only thing that helps prevent future incidents.
  16. You can use a a suitably sized O-ring as band holder, works like a charm.
  17. Ask around on your local neighborhood FB or WhatsApp group on reliable rental agents, some take your money and that's about all they do.. Also the good ones will offer various insurance options to cover property damage, if the property can't be leased again they will pay up to 3 months rent etc, if you need a consistent income from the property then that can be a lifesaver.
  18. Sanparks seems fine with the 4 people being just a random group, I don't see any mention whatsoever of them needing to be related or similar, so I would assume this thread is perfectly fine/safe to be public: "The main member and each person (up to 3 additional people) need to complete an application form per applicant. Please ensure each person signs the application form at the bottom of the page. In addition to the signed application form : Each person must submit a copy of their ID , drivers licence or passport and 2 ID photos per person. (Colour or black and white on photo paper)."
  19. Any news?Just be careful because you are holding what is stolen property and possession is nine tenths of the law...
  20. Thanks Matt, you win bikehubber of the day award, the prize is free Bikehub Plus for a year, enjoy!!
  21. Guys the op has only made 1 post, so an uber n00b. Lots of people are clueless as to how forums work and may not even have an idea how to get post notifications. Though it is weird they aren't following up with those that have made contact but then again if I wanted my bike to remain stolen as some theorize I wouldn't be posting a missing ad on Bikehub so I don't think that would be true. Maybe those that have made contact just drop the op a link to this thread and ask them to give some feedback or reply, a friendly nudge.
  22. So what happened, what's the point of the op posting their bike is stolen if they don't even respond when the bikehub detectives do their amazing work??!
  23. Does anyone have a link to the Yeti thread?
  24. Well after watching this video the problem is probably just that we are all a bunch of pussies, enjoy: https://youtu.be/PvfUCLjomMc
