  1. How did you guys pay for the "goods"?
  2. With the Bialetti's if it's a 4 cup for instance you have to make the full 4 cups because if you don't pack the coffee grinds holder full they don't extract properly?
  3. Is the Garmin terrain product the only one on the market, I would have thought this would be a highly competitive market segment?
  4. Had a guy reply to a wanted ad on Facebook, these guys go to some pretty sophisticated ends, many "friends" etc but I noticed all added within the last week. As per the usual wants to take the deal off site and communicate via WhatsApp. The guy got pretty aggressive when I called him out for being a scammer, Afrikaans guy phoned me up all "upset". Amazing how far they are prepared to go, tried to convince me he wasn't a scammer, even after vloeking me stukkend ,then says but the item is still available it's mine if I want it, these guys have zero shame..
  5. Thanks, thought I recognised the name, those guys are like world leaders in carbon wheel tech, don't they also make the wheels for Koenigsegg?
  6. Who is the local co BST building the frame?
  7. What were all those Canadians doing in Iraq and on that flight?
  8. That's thanks to FB dumb auto reply prompts that means "Is this still available" is one lazy mouse click. You do get lots of those but at the same time I got a fair amount of replies that followed through to a sale. I'm not even going to bother with Gumtree anymore, it's dead as a door nail in comparison. I think the beauty of FB Marketplace is the classifieds groups, you need to find all the popular ones in your general area, then you post to the marketplace and multiple group's all in one shot. One thing to keep in mind is for some reason you can't edit an ad posted in a group retroactively, only the ad that's seen in the marketplace. It's weird that they do that and it means you have to get the ad spot on first time or post it again.
  9. I also recently tried Facebook marketplace for the first time and was blown away by how many responses I got, I haven't tried selling any bike stuff there yet but FB blows Gumtree right out the water. I listed the same things on Gumtree at the same time I put them on FB and only got 1 reply over the whole week.
  10. I've noticed when you get someone that asks to take the conversation off site as their initial response and also doesn't ask any pertinent questions about the item you are selling they are typically scammers. It'll be something lame like "Hi, I'm interested please email me on xxxxxxx@gmail.com" etc. I've also had a similar thing with SMS.
  11. Comments saved many a fellow hubber from a dubious deal or outright scam, they will be sorely missed.
  12. Asking R1200 for something which is half of new and mint, I get this message: R500 The useless cnt is so lazy he can only type a number, no explanation, hello, what what, drives me nuts when I get those. Lazy bottom feeder low baller chop can't even be assed to construct a sentence or be polite yet still expects a huge discount, what a pos!! Friday rant!
  13. Surprised the guy is still using the same number, no fks given.
  14. Nooooo, only a R100 more and you could have got an Aeropress An Aeropress smokes a French press by a country mile and they don't shatter when dropped and dropped they will be... I'm not sure about that, I've tried both and the Importer branded stuff is garbage and the Checkers single origin is one of the best supermarket coffee I've tasted.
  15. Sad news A foolproof litmus test...any seller that requests some form of cash send, ie not an EFT = a guaranteed scammer. I have probably bought hundreds of goodies sight unseen online over the years from various forum classifieds and not once have I ever paid in any manner other than EFT. Nor has any other payment method ever been requested. Not that paying by EFT is proof a seller is fully legit but the point is these days any other method is virtually guaranteed to be a scammer.
  16. Stay far away, what kind of person has no bank account.... a scammer type of person
  17. I find your comment deeply offensive and presumptous, nevermind wishing evil on someone doesn't seem to be terribly biblical, or is it [emoji848][emoji848] But really now, what about the other 500,000+ make believe deities that Patchelicious may have offended, do they not also deserve an audience and a chance at having him flogged/stoned/burnt in hellfire for all eternity??
  18. The Park Tool Pro spoke keys are awesome, used a few different makes and they were head and shoulders above the others.
  19. It's a false sense of security when there are lots of cars around, most people are distracted or can't/won't help even if they notice you being mugged. I was once held at knife point in traffic whilst stopped at a red robot, surround by vehicles, busy time of the day and no one helped, the guys took their time rifling through my stuff and then sauntered off. Even if a decent person notices you are in trouble, what can they do other than hoot and shout, very few people are correctly trained or armed to deal with what potentially be a very dangeeous criminal.
  20. That's good news, probably stovetop, I would have thought in an oven would be preferable?
  21. Thanks, I'm assuming those prices may drop a bit if you take quantity? How long do green beans stay fresh? And how much electricity would be needed per kg to roast them?
  22. Approx how much are the green beans per kg?
  23. Interesting, I've heard about this new form of on demand insurance. Has anyone tried it yet and claimed, not this insurer in particular just in demand insurance in general?
  24. Awesome news, good decision by Lyne.
