  1. Thanks.
  2. I have tried to read this but could someone help me? I live in Cape Town. I do quite a few PPA races per year. They no longer give you a CSA licence when you pay your yearly fee. So is it true that I now have to pay PPA and get my CSA licence myself? Where do I get this licence? Thanks.
  3. The food and tents are great. Usual stuff in a multi-stage race. We did the adventure last year and are up for it again this year. It is a super fun race. Day 1 last year was a little tough for my partner but she managed well. I hear they have cut out the hill section this year. When I asked why they said too many people complained about it. My partner of riding for only one and a half years did it and we had no issues so I don't know which part was too tough!!! Anyway I am not the route designer so that is that. It is a very well put together race. Just get your massges booked as usual and you will love it. It does get cold at night so remember to pack warm clothes for the race village.
  4. That is such a pity but I understand. That place is just super awesome to ride. If you ever organise a ride out there please let me know and I will join you. I will pay for lunch!! I did the MTN race and it was tough but so rewarding. Thanks for the update on the race.
  5. My last 2 orders from them have been completely messed up. They put the item on special as I asked for it. I ordered and paid for it. Then they tell me it is not in stock. To add insult it takes them nearly 6 days to refund me. I agree they will never see another cent of my money.
  6. Marc at Crown Cycles ph:0216716382 Near Claremont. If you phone him first tell him what you need and he will help you 100%. I never have to take my bike back to him for "stuff he missed" He is a great guy.
  7. I don't think so. Even if there was I would not use it. I wouldn't fool around with the way my wheels were attached to my bike. I don't want my wheel to pass me at 40km/h going down a hill!
  8. Too busy making funny jokes at work to worry about my order? Here's the story: Great deals being offered last Thursday on CWC Online. So I make my request for a pair of top of the range Assos bib shorts. I was told to go and fetch as the offer was there. I did just that and paid all within 5 minutes. I faxed a copy of the transfer through to you and even phoned Wayne to make sure that everything had been received and was in order. Order number 18322. So I think there will be no issue and I will have my purchase the next day. Well by 11am nothing so I phone Wayne. Well low and behold they have no stock of the item I bought. Even though the order had been created and it was showing on your website that you had stock. So a few back and forth mails and I have asked for a refund. Well let's just say I STILL don't have my money. Wayne had all my deatils to refund my money on Friday and I still don't have it. I don't care what excuse you give me it should have been done on Friday. Can you give me an explanation why I was not refunded on Friday? In fact you can't because it should have been done and it wasn't. Needless to say I am still trying to get my money back. You said we should get the persons name we deal with well his name is Wayne Botha. I don't feel I should have to speak to the manager/owner to get a refund. I look forward to your reply on this matter. Thanks Greg.
  9. Hello hello... CWC you there??? Must have passed out. Someone get them a driver...
  10. So the cheapest place I have found for Assos bibs is hot spot cycles in Jhb. Anyone out there know where is the cheapest place in Cape Town? Thanks.
  11. To hell and back is great fun but not very challenging. I don't know about karoo to coast. Also think of the logistics. To hell and back is start and finish same spot. I think karoo to coast you have to get your car form A to B. Unless you own KITT it may be a challenge.
  12. Keep us posted. I will be there.
  13. I think they are the same person. They both spell Saturday wrong!! SATERDAY. Not sure about that. Also if you look at the way the posts are written they are the same style. (just saying)
  14. Are you going to win?? If the answer is "yes" sell your entry. If the answer is "no" then you are more than prepared.
  15. You can't go wrong with Candy's. You will never look back.
  16. Rooting for Burry obviously but think it will be Julian Absolon
  17. It takes a lot for them to get the right shirts to the right place at the right time. Not an easy job. They then get 10 blokes saying "i didn't pitch blah blah blah" They only got 1 shirt left from the race. What do they do?? Give the other 9 guys free extra shirts? I am not saying you have done anything wrong. Just get a hold of the right person and then make then plan. I am sure they will be more than happy to help. As you can clearly see they have nothing but a good excellent name on the hub. In fact I would be surprised if they haven't got a hold of you by now. If they haven't.... as I mentioned search for them then send them a message. Please keep us posted on the outcome
  18. ASG is very good and I am sure it is a small error. They have always delivered to me on time with extras so I am sure they will sort it out. (sounds like your error for not pitching up though). Check for them on the Hub and send them all the details.
  19. R15K. I hope there are some Contador steaks in that price....
  20. Both Epics for me was basic plan and basic components. Works the best. The water points this year were super cool with Woolies supporting them. Great vide and everything you need to keep going. Seems the more basic one goes the easier the time.
  21. I spent very little. I train on water and don't use any sports drinks or gels except for races. I don't use a trainer as I feel I am a competent rider and have been riding for 6 years. I ride with people of all levels and that for me is enough training. I ride 6 times a week at about an average of 2-3 hours per ride. My bike has usual services done by myself. I cannot help the parts I go through. I see that as a running expense, as I use my car to drive me to places I use my bike to ride and that is an expense of my lifestyle. I live in Cape Town so no accomodation either. Apparel, well my partner for the race worked at 2XU so he got us shirts for free. The rest of my kit was my usual riding stuff. I own a few pairs of Assos and have the rest so no extra cost there either. I think you are trying to do a good thing here but don't head your thread "CAPE EPIC BATTLE PLAN" that is just rubbish. It is not a battle. Also don't go throwing down stupid figures. If someone is doing the Epic they should have an idea of what it is about and what they need to do it. If they don't then they are the ones at fault. I have read all your posts on this thread and to me you are talking rubbish. It is not an investment. It is an experience. Good luck with training your soldiers for the next battle date.
  22. He is a legend.
  23. I have done the Epic twice and to me that is rediculous. But hey I wasn't going for the podium so what do I know. I did it for fun. If I spent what you have put up I would be in way over my head. First time we came 118th and second time 180th. But hey as I said.. what do I know.
