Dude there are people like that all over Cape Town. I work in Simons Town and I often see people riding like complete idiots. I saw a dead chap on the side of the road about 4 years ago and expect to see many more. Just like the drivers in Cape Town. I often stop at orange robots cause I don't feel safe goiung through and a driver will pass me and hoot and go through the red. Cape Town has become an absolute pig hole. I just hope that when these idiots kill themselves they only take themselves and their stupid families with them and not the innocent ones.

Sounds like a plan. That area is awesome and I would ride there a lot more often if I could get the permission to use the land!! If you want me to join you to check it some time let's make the plan... Thanks again though it was a great ride and lots of fun. All rideable which makes it a superb race.

No need to get shot. I agree with you 100%. Unless it is a big race.. Epic, Transbaviaans or something. These little races are not worth it. I was looking forward to the 1700 of climbing on the long route and only got 1200 on my Garmin. Can I have a free entry next year? (worth a shot)!!

That's also what I have heard. As far as I know most bike shops won't even touch the "Brain" shock.

It is the amount of teeth on each blade of the cassette. 11 is the smallest one, no problem there. 32 or 34 is the biggest one. The bigger the blade the easier the gear. So if you think you need that tiny little extra on the big climb then go for the 34.

Are any of the shoes carbon soles? It might be a certain amount of pressure on a certain place that is causing the area to react. Carbon soles seem to eliminate this. Just a thought

Wow nothing good to say!! I think it is great. Well done Kevin. Good on you. I love that race and wish I could do it every year. Well done to the Epic and all that work there. Great race and keep it up. Also keep putting up the entrance fees as I don't want the whiney people of this country there. I want people who enjoy the race as much as me and who have fun during the 8 days of racing.

Just remind me again which brand won the Epic for the last 2 years. (I own a Bulls and will never change but between the 2 mentioned it is simple!)

I have given away 2 chainbreaker tools to guys who said they would find me after the race and return them. Well I am still waiting. No more for me. Look after no 1. That's it. I did help a girl once though who had fallen. She was pretty hot. Then when I got to the end she intrduced me to her husnand and told him I had helped her. There is just no winning in life.

I rode my second Epic this year. First time round did on a 26" Epic soft tail. This year did it on a Bulls 29"hardtail. Must say I much prefered this years ride. I love my bike and I don't care what anyone says I won't change it. You are way light enough to use a hard tail. That's my 2c.

If I was you I would keep the bike you have. Otherwise buy a 29'r frame and move all the parts over.

You should tell the shop owner he employes thieves and you are going to tell all your friends in the area not to go to his shop. He might be inclined to help you find out the truth!!
