  1. I heard there is a race on Sunday in Slanghoek though
  2. This is when you know you are winning at life
  3. Hayley is still studying and Marie works full time so I am guessing that they have to pick their racing calendar wisely to maximize the time off they can get
  4. If you are carrying that I would consider taking a patch or two and some glue and sandpaper with too, then at least you are sorted worst case scenario.
  5. *tinfoil hat on* Swartberg were bribed to send csa a list of entries. *tinfoil hat off*
  6. I am not sure, I am very new to the whole thing and it all seems a bit weird.
  7. Well, you run the risk of getting in trouble, I am not sure exactly how because I am very new here but I am sure someone else can confirm. Personally I would rather stay in CSA's good books as I am dreaming big haha
  8. The gravel calendar seems to be filling up here, unfortunately most of the events don't seem interested in getting CSA licensing which does not matter for most but for those if us who have a racing license it is rather unfortunate.
  9. Yes and then I think there was 40g in the bottle, but one was a water. Luckily I have a gut of steel haha. Never struggle chucking down the gels but it can get expensive if it is your own nutrition...
  10. I don't want to do the maths on how much I was taking in at SA champs road race but it was a lot... 14 gels, 6 bottles of carb mix (can't remember how many grams per bottle), and 2 rice cakes. For just over 4.5h.
  11. Also not exactly bike related... But very convenient for bike missions! (The tt bike is still worth more than the car lol)
  12. I pointed this out on a Whatsapp group yesterday too
  13. you are right I am a terrible example... I just thought it was quite surprising that I was one of the only ones not keen to shell out so I can see how was fastest on the leaderboard that day.
  14. Interestingly I had a look on my strava and the vast majority of the people I follow on the all are members. Like 90%, and the other 10% are my friends who do sports the app doesn’t cater to as much (rowers, gymers, and yogis)
  15. I suppose it is just a different structure where instead of relying on ad revenue they now want income from readers. Capitalism and economics would probably predict a rival news site to gain popularity as users no longer want to pay the higher price
  16. Update: Unfortunately it lasted about 5 rides until the plastic started separating from itself underneath. I have put the second one on for now, but I suspect that will meet its end soon too, and then I will have to find another solution.
  17. Clearly they missed the creation of a UCI Gravel Calendar
