  1. Weather in PE is stunning today for a change. Just got back from a 55km ride pure bliss.
  2. I find it rather strange I must say. On each occasion(and there have been many) while puncturing a tyre every single cyclist that rode past me asked if I'm okay or need something.
  3. wow that's really bad. Hope your shoulder gets better soon.
  4. Well done! She looked so happy when she crossed the line it put a smile on my face :-)
  5. Thanks for this post Johan. I bought a second hand Dura Ace groupset and also noticed aluminium shavings(did not really know at the time what it was) I still have these used shimano pads on my bike so will these shavings although not nearly as bad as your picture above over time destroy the alaminium braking surfice on my Easton Vista SL rims?
  6. Nice pedals how much moola for them and what do you like about them? Im considering buying new pedals for my bike and have been looking at Time or maybe the LOOK Keo carbon pedals.
  7. bobby jy is reg die kabel was te styf en het 'n lelike kinkel in gehad. Nuwe kabel en als is 100%
  8. Thanks for the advice so far will wait till my neighbor mechanic wakes up and get him to check it.
  9. Yesterday I fitted my bike with Dura Ace 7800 components. Everything works super smooth ,but about 5km's into my ride this morning the front deraileur won't shift from the big chain ring unto the small one. No click sound from the shifter nothing. Does this mean the deraileur is stripped or is something else amiss? There is still tention on the cable going to the front deraileur P.S No comments like you should have fitted Campag
  10. well spotted
  11. Ussually when I see a fellow cyclyst approach me from the front, no matter how tired I am, I start to cycle faster as not to show him I'm in pain and greet him with a smile.
  12. Just got back from my ride and never needed to shift to the small front cog ring. All the problems seems to do with that. Maybe Shimano thought we would never need to shift to the smaller front cog, as I see the majority of Campy riders always ride in the small front cog ,hence the problem.
  13. Wonder who stocks them? Could use something like that for longer rides.
  14. Is that a Bicycling mag on your table? No wonder no work get's done

    My Ride!

    Nog foto's...
  16. If you really want to save money ask what discount you will get on either bike without wheels! That's something I did not know. I wanted to ask if I can use my Eastons on the new bike 'but was to afraid that the owner would start to laugh and see me as being "cheap" Will have to ask later today when i fetch my bike from Wayne.
  17. Thanks for the input Gumpole. Will test ride both tomorrow and decide. I also had a look at the new Felt F4 at Coimbra cycles http://www.felt.co.za/f4.html and that bike is in the same price range as the CR1 ,but you guys are right even at 12k this is a fairly substantial investment for me and I will feel bad a couple of years along the road when I think to myself damn I should have spent the extra $. wisecrack2008-01-29 05:35:56
  18. I am leaning towards the S20. Will swop my Easton Vista SL's over from my current bike for the time being.
  19. Here is some nice pics of the new Speedster S20 courtesy of roadbikereview http://forums.roadbikereview.com/showthread.php?p=1374018
  20. Thanks for the advice so far. I saw the new S20 at Wayne Pheiffer cycles and it looks stunning. Had to look twice if the frame was not carbon as the head unit is integrated into the frame without any welds. Wonder though why they opt for no carbon seat/rear stays. That would have made it even lighter, but I guess it's to save on cost. Read a couple of very nice reviews and comments from people who bought it. On my old bike I have Easton Vista SL's and I bet Easton circuits would really be worth putting on the S20 and I get to keep my old bike.
  21. Yes maybe I should take both for a test ride and then decide.
  22. Well for 6k I better enjoy it more :-)
  23. Hope this is the right section for this. I have a budget of 12k. My current bike hopefully can be sold for around 4k. I actually want to keep my old bike if I can. Here is my two choices http://www.scott-sports.com/gb_en/product/380/766/cr1_team OR http://www.scott-sports.com/gb_en/product/381/776/speedster_s20 The price difference between the two bikes is almost 6k. The weight difference is also minimal ,but the Speedster S20 is full on alloy and the CR1 is carbon. Should I rather save up and get the CR1 Team or go for the slightly heavier S20. Component wise they look almost identical ,but the S20 have a compact crank would should make a difference.
  24. Lyk my jy's nog nie klaar met hom nie. Die PADVARK! Hoop jy's darem okay dit kon veel erger uit gedraai het
  25. Uhm well maybe he gave vague directions? Also he left the scene to go to the station. Not saying the SAPS could not be quicker ,but unlike the security companies they do have alot of complaints to attend to with limit manpower.
