  1. Also bought myself Koos Stadlers book - enjoyed but again I have always liked books of that type
  2. How far would that end up being, or do you mean drive over that way and then cycle?
  3. Think the I team concept appealed to me for the following reasons: I almost never cycle in groups;Being new to road riding I found the opportunity to ride with others and learn the necessary skills as a challengeWould like to improve my cycling over all - pretty sure having others help you and give advice is the best wayBeing in Pretoria means getting to Joburg for a bike is not going to be easy so if there are any Pretoria I team members let me know if you would like to set up something closer to home?
  4. Also getting really excited, not so much about the time or PB but learning how to do all this road riding stuff/thingamajig Going to print all the paceline & rolling though pic's and put them on the top tube, bugger the route markers and times Also a slowish starter, I'm afraid Good luck Captain Tom - hope it's not as bad as you think
  5. Unfortunately no times to add to the PB list ............. I did finish the Joberg2C in 9 days though?
  6. Okie dokes .... managed to get my substitution reseeded to I batch Pretty please can I join in? Busy studying all the new cycling terms now
  7. I should know by this time tomorrow if I will be asking permission to join in or not but for a mtb'er this is starting to get seriously technical
  8. Thanks Gary Clearly doing the wrong thing is not going to pay off - will have to hope they consider the SAS Mtb seeding then
  9. OK Not a roadie though, so have no seeding, will that mean I will go off right at the back of the field?
  10. How do they know I am not the guy doing the number collection?
  11. Do I understand correctly .... I am taking over an I batch entry, this will result in a re-seed and re-allocation, but if I ride on the original entry name I remain in I batch Not particularly concerned with an official result and time - I know what I did after all
  12. Thanks. The main aim for me in following the lifestyle change would be weight loss, second benefit I guess would be better performance on the bike Maybe to clarify - I do take in carbs, but as for you, only in the form of vegetables and fruit and no to very little in the form of starches. I don't need carbs to ride, even at high intensity (although my interpretation of high intensity might be a little skewed!), although I do need to eat I suppose thinking logically I have just answered my own question. I am not changing my current diet, only when I do and do not eat
  13. Is it possible to follow this and remain low carb and while still cycling 8 -12 hours a week? Tips and hints would be appreciated!
  14. Not the greatest pic but great experience and memories Ballyhoura, Ireland at the Single Speed Champs in 2011
  15. Taken off the coast of Cebu, Philippines
  16. Don't worry - I had to google that and with Standard grade maths I'm never going to get it either
  17. You have set the bar too high - we can't keep up anymore
  18. If I knew how to get you a copy, you are welcome Thanks man, still learning ...... so happy for any constructive criticism as well
  19. We (wife and I) cycled there two Saturday's ago - no issues at the time
  20. I use the KMC Single speed chain - never broken one and they last pretty long before they strech too much
