CYCLIST DELIVERS COMEUPPANCE! I was cycling through the boom gate of a university main campus a little more than an hour ago. Notwithstanding the flashing lights mounted on the back of the helmet and seat post a truck sped through the entrance with such speed that the big wing mirror passing a couple of inches from my ear might have taken my head off. It felt that way. Would've been my first knockdown since my boss sent me flying off my road bike 35 years ago. Still have the deep scar. Followed the truck to where it stopped on campus. I’d started recording and was lucky enough to catch his colleague jumping off the back of the truck going “Is jy befok!? You almost drove the larnie MOERTOE! Didn’t you see his Christmas liggies?” ???????????? DELICIOUS TWIST He works for a long-time client of mine who's also an avid cyclist who will in the next few minutes be receiving the video. Heeee!!!!

Yet we saw him do it live. I watched attentively and anecdotally was exceptionally impressed with Mr B’s protracted performance and effort, comparatively speaking. Sê ma' net. Much respect to him!

I’m 1.9m and have found that my L Cannondale Trail 2 with 29" wheels is undersized. It feels as if I’m sitting a bit too “on top” of it. A recently acquired XL Trek is a far better fit. At your height I’d strongly advise focusing on XL’s, and when you’re ready having a bike fit at your local bike shop. At any rate try riding several before forking out the cash, in that way you’ll know when it’s a good fit. Excellent idea to pay attention to drivetrain components when buying a used piece, components are expensive to replace. Don’t hesitate to ask a friend or anyone on here (with pics). Don’t be surprised when you soon feel the need to upgrade so that you can shred trails harder and faster.

De Waterkant, I aver. That looks very much like the entrance a few doors away from my regular base when visiting the kids, some beautiful and unusual and surprisingly spacious homes there. Exceptional rendering, naaaaisss.

Stopped road cycling on two physios’ advice at 28 a few years after L1+2 spinal fractures playing rugby, triggered a lifelong autoimmune spinal thing. Frequent swimming was great. Decades later, getting onto the multiple singletracks near my home and exploring coastal pathways about 6 days a week for the last two years has been even more amazing for the spine. Vir alles! Speedy tumbles se moer. ????
