  1. I was pretty damn impressed when I took it out of the box. I can definitely see where the money went. Stupid easy to use as well. Like that the bikes don't hang by the rims.
  2. Bought a two pack of Steadyracks and I’m well impressed. Super well made and will hold up the two xc bikes Pricey yes but eBucks covered the costs so no complaints there.
  3. When they still printed the stars over the jubbly bits and all the school boys thought the blue side of the eraser would remove it. I remember as a laaitie hanging in the back of CNA checking out the mags and laughing our asses off.
  4. Same same. I haven't had issues in the past year to get stock of Shimano parts.
  5. Top tip with 12spd SRAM: b tension is rocket science. Use the guide once and then turn that ******* screw in and out until it gets hot enough to start a fire. Then… it will still have issues. Something I learned when setting up the Forbidden Druid. Turn the b tension in until the chain hangs loose. Then turn it in out until you’ve taken up the slack + 1 more turn. Crisp shifting!
  6. Daar is n *** storie as ek al een gehoor het. Good luck dude. Find out who he works for and send his new boss your banking details and a link to this thread.
  7. I'm blown away by how well the Deore shifts and performs. Only change I would make is the shifter to get the multi-downshifts. I would fit Deore to my Evil with zero shame. (just not the brakes)
  8. All the scammed parties so go review him on HelloPeter then.
  9. And lurking in this thread gaining tips on how to stay one step ahead. Problem for him is... we are a little smarter than him. The first post on the page about this "past weekend" is also fake. First thing on a tour report would be a group photo. Non of that there.
  10. The cockroaches.... https://www.facebook.com/mtbwesterncape Keep reporting and also find his personal profile and report that.
  11. Most good shops will be able to size you correctly. 168cm leans towards medium but not all bikes are the same and not all people are the same. Short torso, long legs? Medium? Short legs, longer torso? Small? Hard to say. For example, my fiance is 165cm and she is on a small trail bike but a medium xc bike. There really is no set rule. When buying secondhand it would be best to do a test ride and see how it feels. Are you too upright and the saddle pushing the max insert mark or are you stretched out and the top tube smacks you in the crotch.
  12. Have to agree with you there. So played out. If I wanted a motorbike I would have bought another one to join my Suzuki.
  13. Wont work with the remote lockout unfortunately. Had to go for the over bar.
  14. I replaced the tyres with Vittoria Barzos for tubeless and changed from 740mm to 780mm bars. Also replaced the grips with some Burgtecs. Pedals replaced with Look X-Track Race so I can where the disco slippers again. The contact point upgrades are purely personal preference. I really like the saddle it came with so that won't get the Fabric treatment like all my other bikes. The Deore groupset is pretty damn crisp in shifting and the brakes slow me down enough to not want to upgrade them. My thinking is that I'll upgrade components as they wear out. Deore detailleur will become SLX if I ever smash it on a rock. Chain will become XT when the time comes etc.
  15. Get in touch with International Trade and get the adapters from them. Went through the same when I moved from my Lyrik to the Pike. Had to replace the front adapter. Rear was luckily just fine. This was on the V4 though.
  16. Does anyone have an EDC tap I could borrow or can you point me in the direction of a shop that can thread my fork for me?
  17. It could be. This house has leftover **** from the ancient copper communications age like you won't believe. The dropped is brilliant for the price. I use the 30.9 - 31.6 shim and it works perfectly. The over bar lever is ok as all of them are. Wish I could have done a below the bar. One point, it doesn't like more than 5nm of torque on the seat clamp though.
  18. It will by sinking the post 25mm into the frame. It should work.
  19. That is how much sticks out with 125mm post. Looks like a lot but 150mm for me would have been very close. For the type of riding i do on this bike i don’t need that much drop compared to my Evil.
  20. When you find one please send me the contact details of who arranged it.
  21. Please ask them about the cable guide for interest sake 😂
  22. Left side. Had to move the remote lockout further in on the bar to prevent interference.
  23. I’m 1.79m tall and went for a size large. Installed a Rapide 125mm post with the over the bar lever. 150mm would have been too long.
  24. Came with the port blanked off with a plate. Nothing else and CL said they don’t have this. Taping it up for now with Gorilla Tape to prevent water and dirt ingress I would imagine the bikes should come with a bag with a manual etc at least. Maybe they have a pile of this in the workshop? Who knows.
  25. Thats the hole. I could drill out the blanking plate… but that is a tricky one
