  1. Not impossible but it would be more frequent and only under load. I get the noise even under light loads. Not sure it would make such a loud noise. What would it get caught on? Rubbing noise would be more likely.
  2. Wheel is back at the shop. I can’t bother with this anymore. Let someone else figure it out. Shop suspects the freehub is the problem. They will reset the spring tension and relube it. My question… why would a freehub only last 6000km or is that the norm? Lyne components high engagement unit. I really miss my Hope hubs.
  3. Not an expert but i’ve cracked a few frames in my life. Best to get the bike shop to confirm but that looks cracked to me.
  4. Please. Im 10kg heavier than last year this time and some group motivation will go a long way. Goal for this year is 25kg. Very easy 2kg a month if I look at it on paper. In theory… yeah
  5. That park is a hole at best. This level of service is standard there so no surprises.
  6. Always good service from them.
  7. Some say I’m boring to ride Red Barn almost exclusively but it is 10 minutes from home and we have annual passes.
  8. I’m living my best shifting life with the XTR mech and SRAM everything else at the moment. 😂 Definitely sticking to the combo.
  9. True story. Don’t fix what isn’t broken.
  10. No stress. I’ve been tinkering like a mofo this week though 😂
  11. I don’t tinker to the level of causing more headaches though. Keep my bike clean and drivetrain maintained. Wheel bearings only done now after about 18 months and 6000km. I blame cheap bearings from the factory Fiance’s bike eats a set of bearings every 12 months. If the seatpost creaks I clean and replace the fibergrip. Same with the bars. Headset clean and regrease happens when the fork is serviced. So twice a year basically. BB service happens when the chainring gets replaced. I’ve never needed to replace BB bearings in my life. Lucky I guess. I really miss Hope hubs though. Never needed maintenance and just kept going and going on my Morewood. The new owner has the same experience I’m sure. So yeah. Until recently I mostly just clean the bike twice a month and lube at the same time.
  12. No microspline driver available for my hub unfortunately.
  13. Regular maintenance done as well as inspection on the prawls etc. Only the outer bearings were replaced recently. Will get the inners done as well. XD driver is on the cards for later but might be needed sooner. If so I can sell the NX cassette and go for a Garbaruk
  14. Looks like a 10mm as well
  15. Who insures your car and household?
  16. Isolated the clunk to my rear wheel. Switched wheels with the lady and it made the noise on her bike. Sounds almost dead on in the middle of the cassette so I’m suspecting a freewheel that is dying or the inner bearings being the culprits.
  17. Happy to help!
  18. Very good choice of bike there.
  19. Im home all day. Based in Centurion. DM me your contact number and we can chat quick
  20. Where are you based? I have an entire M7100 for you for spares.
  21. I thought I recognised you. Going trough the poplar forest is getting very bad and so is John’s trail. I did a quick 10k to test. First part of #2 and then onto #3 through BRB and then the last 10km but skipping John’s Trail. Finish just after the first half of Hallelujah.
  22. Wont make me feel the click through my pedals and will creak differently. Had that problem before and it easy to identify by flexing the saddle with your hands. Also won’t click when standing.
  23. Thanks Mr Dips. I did the axle surgery today. Degrease axle. Used Park Tool ASC on the threads, Polylube on the shaft, and fibergrip on any surface where metal meets carbon. Did the same for the derailleur hanger. I’m dreaming maybe but it sounded like it clicked less on the ride. Less angry. Tomorrow I’ll do some work on the dropper post and saddle. Highly doubt it is there since I can feel the click through the pedals. (not the pedals, tried a different set) Then… swopping wheels with the Stumpjumper to rule out my entire wheel.
  24. If he works off-shore or wants to buy it as a surprise for a family member then walk away.
