  1. My old box was connected via WIfi which was approximately 15m away and through 3 walls. A few seconds delay between voice and video while streaming from a shared folder on the PC. Never tried online streaming. Ran an ethernet cable and life was bliss after that.
  2. Problem is the apartheid government built the dams too big. If they were smaller, they would be fuller.... #truestory
  3. Congrats! Inspector asked be to slow down for the speed test. I was going too fast for the equipment to register. Told him if I went any slower, I might fall over.... TBH not the hardest test around.... I didn't even finish my checklist. Same guy said, "OK. Looks like you know your stuff. Let's move on to the yard" Much easier than the old test where the inspector used to follow you out on the road.
  4. At least they were able to operate. Yesterday there were complications with his injuries that were preventing them from operating. RedBull Honda Racing Statement
  5. Just read that Nicky Hayden was involved in a cycling accident and is in serious condition... http://www.eurosport.com/superbikes/nicky-hayden-in-serious-condition-in-hospital-after-being-hit-by-car_sto6169474/story.shtml
  6. If the schedule below is anything to go by, Mobdro as a standalone install or FilmonTV as a Kodi Add-on. As long as they don'y switch you off...... Isle of Man TT 2017 TV coverage on ITV42017 IoM TV schedule UK (ITV4): Mon 29th May, 9pm – TT 2017: Record Breakers Tues 30th May, 9pm – TT 2017: The Perfect Lap Wed 31st May, 9pm – TT 2017: My Greatest Moment Thurs 1st June, 9pm – Preview Show Fri 2nd June, 9pm – Qualifying Highlights Sat 3rd June, 9pm – Superbike TT Race Sun 4th June, 9pm – Sidecar TT Race (1) Mon 5th June, 9pm – SuperSport TT Race (1) Tue 6th June, 9pm – SuperStock TT Race Wed 7th June, 9pm – SuperSport TT Race (2) Thur 8th June, 9pm – Lightweight TT Race & TT Zero Fri 9th June, 9pm – Senior TT Sat 10th June, 9pm – Sidecar TT Race (2) Sun 11th June, 6pm – Review Show 1 Sun 11th June, 7pm – Review Show 2 (All times are UK BST and are subject to change) - See more at: http://www.formotorbikes.com/blog/isle-of-man-tt-2017-tv-coverage-itv4/#sthash.sW1myqUZ.dpuf
  7. Just want to check if anybody else is having issues with UK channels at the moment? Tried FilmonTV and Mobdro and both are doing the same thing. Pick a channel and once it starts to stream all is good up until a few minuted in. Filmon just kicks you out to the channel menu and Mobdro just freezes... Also battling with buffering on Exodus and Phoenix. RedbullTV has it's moments but at least it adjusts to suit available bandwidth. Did a speed test on the media box and got a ping of under 20ms with a line speed down of around 10,5Mb/s and almost 1Mb/s up. Not sure what to do.... (Started visiting torrent sites again. At least we can watch a few episodes without having to double up on blood pressure meds.....)
  8. Also have a look at the Remix Mini. I think that might be my replacement for my MXQPro...
  9. I don't think that Kodi itself is the problem. It is if it comes with pre-loaded add-ons, isn't that more the issue?
  10. No need to post your woodwork.....
  11. I take it you've tried it... I'll take that as a no then.
  12. Any reason not to use Motorex 2000 grease?
  13. Plus they know the product better than you and know exactly who to speak to in order to get issues resolved
  14. Yeah at 100kg, the Shoe Booster thingy doesn't blip on my radar (These boots were made for walking not running!) and the Vitality Baby.... That's not an option! Like I said, lucky
  15. Ask them to include accidental breakage as well... (E.g. Cricket ball through the TV screen) They slaughtered my existing insurance with their initial quote. But once they added the extra tick boxes to the option (Thanks to Myles for the heads up) it brought it all back in line again. HOWEVER, with the "extras" like the tracker (free) and the cash back on fuel, it made it worth the effort but only once the Vitality integration was done. Basically make 100% sure that you are comparing apples with apples. If both policies are offering the same benefits then your decision will be easier.
  16. You need to consider MTB vs Road as well... If avg speeds are the same, I am pretty sure the HR will be higher on a MTB considering the terrain and therefore more point allocated surely?
  17. No issues with them. All claims from Disco side handled well. My advice though is to go through a broker. As far as the tracker goes, according to them, they will not use the info against you. I was skeptical in the beginning but it has definitely changed the way I drive. If I drive like a knob, I lose points and that means less cash back from my fuel spend (They also do rewards BTW... coffee, smoothies, parking vouchers etc. All you need is 100km event free and you get rewarded ) Better driving means less chances of accidents/incidents as well as fewer fines and less stress.
  18. I must be the luckiest guy on Discovery..... Had no issues linking devices (Even my old Edge 305 works a treat). My wife has a Forerunner 35 that auto syncs after every session. Bit more effort required with the 305... My cash back values are right and no issues with the paybacks. Health gear works 100%. No shoe booster or gym booster (Legacy Gym member). Insufficient points were allocated with the Bio at our fitness assessment but my broker sorted that out (They actually picked up the mistake and queried on our behalf) Had 3 claims using the Disco vehicle insurance. 1st one was shocking but that was the service providers fault. My broker sorted that out for me very quickly. Second one was an insurance write off and even though Disco don't do buy backs, my broker was able to arrange for me to get my baby back and it's back on the road (actually better than before the accident). Last one was a fender bender on my wife's car and that went without a hitch. Fuel cashback is being paid monthly. They paid out for a pair of lost sunnies a few months ago under unspecified all risks without a hitch. My cash refund on my life insurance based on vitality status and medical claims was paid out at the end of last five year cycle and that went towards my new motorcycle. In a nutshell, I have only had a few issues and all of those issue have been sorted out by my broker or one of his employees. There are a few hoops to jump through but nothing unrealistic. We are not the sportiest family around but with minimal effort we hit Gold every year without any problems. (Maintained Diamond for the last 5 years and about to hit it again in the next month or two) The Vitality Active Rewards are a [motivational] tool for us to get some points. It's not about the smoothies or coffees. My wife and I have roughly the same points targets so it's a bit of a competition to see who gets theirs (I'm getting my arse handed to me on a weekly basis.....) Are there cheaper options out there? Yes there are. With less hassle? Yes. Would I recommend them? Yes, but if you are going to do the vitality thing, you need to embrace it 100% and integrate all the products to gain maximum benefit. Oh and it's a LOT less hassle if you go through a broker..... TL;DR: Discovery is great. Plenty of benefits. Make it work for you. Do it through a broker and let them handle the problems.
  19. So online beans order was delivered. Placed an order with Terbodore. Service was great. Ordered on Monday and delivery arrived on Thursday along with a hand written postcard letting me know that life is better with Coffee (or something along those lines). So far I have finished a bag of Great Dane and am busy with a bag of This Is Africa. Still in the cupboard are a bag of Mocha Java and a bag of Uganda Organic. So far so good. I reckon this is the way to go.
  20. During our annual shutdown at work recently, there was some work done on our rail siding. Some rails replaced as well as some of the sleepers. A colleague of mine and I went and had a look at the stuff that was taken out and of the 12 sleepers that were replaced, we reckon we could re purpose these (the rest were in really bad shape) : Mine are the three on the left. Length wise we looking at between 3,8m to 4,2m and they are 250x120 except for one which is 250x200. The shorter one looks a bit dodge but I couldn't see that side as it was facing down. Hopefully the rot isn't too excessive and that bit will trim off. The others look ok but will only know once I start cutting. Found a sawmill up the road that will cut them. R50 per cut @ 2m x 250mm wide. Planning an outside table to seat 8 (2mx1,2m with two benches) Hopefully the wood inside is still good and usable... Sizes may change depending on the condition of the timber. otherwise it's going to be an epic bonfire! This is going to be a long term project as I still need to put up an awning to put the table under... Edit: These things are HEAVY!!!
  21. Any bike is an adventure bike... The adventure is in your mind http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_dJc23mtIq7w/SlXLD32_78I/AAAAAAAAFBc/9ZoYSx_tgy8/s1600/R1%2Bdirtbike.jpg http://rideexpeditions.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/T6.jpg http://www.eco-friendly-africa-travel.com/images/IMG_9935.jpg
  22. Might have had something to do with the damaged SEACOM cable. Apparently that 's what was causing all the nonsense (Well according to the Afrihost Call Centre anyway...)
  23. ^^This They can't be referring to any device that is capable of streaming. That would make PC's illegal... I would say any device that is sold with software pre-loaded with the intention of illegal streaming is infringement on copy right laws. That fact that it is capable of having software loaded to stream illegally is hardly the fault of the manufacturer. That's like saying all luxury German car drivers should be thrown in jail because their cars are capable of doing 250kph...
  24. Read a lot of good things about the 500 as a short distance adventure bike.
  25. Using the standard hole version
