  4. Give me a shout if you want to get rid of her old bike - I may be interested in it for my son.
  5. What were you doing when they broke? changing up?, down? just riding along? This should not happen under normal conditions - Perhaps incorrectly fitted?
  6. Hope for your sakes Bakkies doesn't read this thread!!!
  7. I agree, but take care to wipe the Q20 off the outer part of the pedal before riding - it can get quite slick!
  8. This looks very inviting - I'm in!!
  9. you should have no problems training straight away, especially if you have no flu like symptoms
  10. I agree - although some floor-pumps are better than others - I use a silverback branded pump and it never fails (also not very expensive at under R200)
  11. A one or two year old GT Avalanche 3.0 would be a good bet - you should be able to pick one up or R3K'ish
  12. I think that rims must be the key factor. I recently mounted the crossmark/monorail combo onto my Mavic 819s (tubeless rims) and they went on very easily and seated beautifully. Yesterday I did a ghetto conversion on my old spare bike using a used crossmark on the rear and a nevegal on the front. The rims were the older, squarish type that accommodate v-brakes. The conversion worked very well and again they seated perfectly - I was able to do both these fittings using a floor pump and two levers.
  13. Ghetto'd my holiday bike today using some used tubeless tyres off my main bike (Crossmark rear - Nevegal front). Used 2 X R20 bmx tubes, 160ml's of SlimePro (R50 pro rata), Took just 1 hour - used a floor pump - seated perfectly - works great so far!! Cost R90 in total (excluding tyres)!
  14. Very balanced and entertaining blog! They really have hooked up with some cool people who have been great ambassadors!!! I had the pleasure of doing the Lord of the Chain Rings last year where I met Chris and Ilse too - big up to you guys for making visitors feel so welcome!
  15. I just managed to get a last minute entry for the tour! According to the website - Day 1 is 55km with 932m of vertical ascent, and Day 2 is 50km with 832m of ascent. The weather is supposed to be good - so all-in-all it looks like a good time!
  16. I also use the H7 - great bang for the buck!!
  17. This is a great combo for most conditions - although not ideal in heavy mud
  18. Condolences to you and your family and to all those who were close.

    CRC? ? ?

couldn't agree more - even though CRC really looks after you if things don't arrive!

    CRC? ? ?

If you go the Royal Mail option - it could take 3 weeks to arrive (recent experience - my last parcel arrived on the 21st after having been ordered on the 1st and dispatched on the 4th). Other options are faster, but more expensive
  24. On DSTV now!!!
  25. very useful thread - thanks everyone!
