Definitely some fair points raised...and apologies if this goes off topic... When I initially set out to convert to tubeless - I was told that I will need tubeless tyres and rims (multiple bike shops and advice from this forum) I went as far as purchasing a UST Race King...what I should have done is tried the conversion before I bought... The brand new Race King is still in the garage and my entry level, non-UST rims and tyres are now tubeless... Almost 1000km later (regular trips to Teak (blue/black), Groenies, MTN Bike Park, Vori-bergs, USN's - without burping or sidewall damage... Maybe im just extremely lucky - but based on my luck, non-UST for me... Moto-Moto - what worked really well for my tubeless conversion was going to a filling station and inflating with their compressor. I followed the Stans YouTube videos step by step. Also bought a syringe to help fill up the tyre without having to open a section to fill in the liquid...

You can convert any wheel to tubeless!! UST - not worth the extra cash + they are heavier!

Was a great day out...A well organised race.. Some of the single tracks through Cullinan section was superb, albeit in terribly smelly in some places - lol Pity about the traffic on some of the single track sections early in the race - would have loved to have attempted some of the technical bits with the appropriate momentum... The longer wooden bridge punctured my front wheel - one of the wooden planks turned upside down with the nails facing up... Viva Stans Viva!

I personaly would like to have a choice of what marketing I receive - and what I dont... Its as simple as that... Have a proper "opt-in" / "opt-out" on all forms...

last time i checked there were around 220 ppl who entered online for the 30km! 60km was 110 odd... expect a full field tomorrow... my 2nd MTB race - so will be hoping to have an ride tomorrow...

I registered on SA-Active... When I called Tour De Frans - they could not give me an indication of how they got my contact details... Their "marketing" lady got the list from somewhere...They couldnt confirm where I had consented to direct marketing - which is an issue in the eyes of CPA! an extreme car needs an extreme bonnet scoop! 1760nm is INSANE! Good luck in keeping this monster in a straight line... will be an extremely opposite-locking-jaw breaking- Sunday drive... I'd rather settle for a Ariel Atom...

Any opinions/experiences with the EBC Gold Stuff pads? These are the sintered option from EBC... They also make Green Stuff - resin...

unless you "un-suction" them - toss them in the boot and re-apply them when u ready to rock n roll again...

I grew tired of having my water bottles full of mud/sand... Fitted a The mud guard - which works well.. Doesnt ever stop the dust from settling on the water bottle nozzle - nothing practical can help with that... But we are MTB'ers after all...the elements should only aid in our perseverance...

Also - is there any security device that will stop the cups from being stolen?

Just cant do it! I have my 1st MTB race this weekend - Voriberg. Last time I was in the saddle was this past Saturday for a 30km ride (pretty flat)... How much trouble am I in?
