You have 7 months to get in some good training... By the time you get here - all the trails should be rideable! Also from watching footage of Tokai (Epic) - doesnt compare @ all to the bike park... You may actually be disapointed - but some of the technical stuff is great!! Come without expectations and enjoy your ride!

These prices are insane! I called up Cyclelab last week and they told me a rough price of 1.6k for a pair of transition lenses! Will try order them from the States - SO much cheaper!! But I must admit - the High Def Optics (HDO) is unbelievable!

Same thing almost happened to me last week...and thought how crazy it would be to end up in the barb wire!! Lost all traction, couldnt uncleat and somehow managed not ending up in the fence!! I am however thankful for the little pastic bit they use as a ramp...but you need to attack the bridge at quite a speed to make it up relying on pure momentum without fear of braking traction... The wood is ridiculously slippery when wet! But I suppose its part of the riding experience!

Just got a pair of Jawbones! Must say they are an incredible pair of sunglasses... Am definitely keen to get a set of Transition lenses.... Any idea how much these go for?

So the question... To go sintered or not go to sintered? I have had resin pads - and they are great (considering that I have no sintered experience)... Recently my rides have been wet and muddy - and i still have tons of pad left (ive done 850km so far)... To note: im pretty heavy on brakes... How much of a difference will i feel with sintered? Running a super entry level M486 Shimano - XT 180mm rotor up front and a resin-only 160mm in the rear... What would happen if I used a sintered on the rear rotor?

Great review! My Silverback Nabraska came with 2.1 Weirwolfs - non UST. I must say that they handle tons of abuse! I converted them to tubeless about 600kms ago - and I havent had a single issue... Tons of rides @ Teak/Groenies and the Spruit... I highly recommend a set of Weirwolfs!

Do braided hoses make a huge difference? Is it worth upgrading on an XC bike or is it more for the bling factor?

I definitely agree with Chris_W_65! I did a lot of research before buying my bike... Silverback came up tops in value for money, component for component! Check out the Spectra - and compare it to other bikes in its price range... Theres an LBS here selling them for sub 10k... ROFL @ Smegma! Thats insane!

And the pastic tube pops off the syringe! need to add a cable tie!! usually listen for splashing around - and top up accordingly...
