  1. Sorry for the Hi-Jack. HIJACK on: Which slicks would you guys recommend for a 26" HT? Do you get really thin ones that will fit on a mtb rim? or are the slicks for a mtb still quite thick(ish) ? Anybody have any really cheap really light complete wheels with slicks for a lightweight lady (my fiance). PM me Thanks. HIJACK OFF.
  2. No, closer to Llandudno. Couple of 100m's past turn-off coming from Hout Bay toward campsbay
  3. Friday, and Valentines. There's gonna be a couple to choose / chose / tchoos from...
  4. Saw a cyclist lying next to the road. Couple of cyclists and a car that was standing there. Ambulances came past on my way to the city. Anybody know if the person is OK? And what happened? Was covered in a blanket lying on a woman's lap. Arms in the air, so did not look fatal.
  5. Some of the nissan races gives you spike. Very nice if you like some "sooibrand" after a race.

    Argus 2014

Doing it first time. Start at 9:16 (corporate group). Guessing it's rather relaxed (and hot) back there? Edit: Ps on a 29er DS with knobblies...so I'm obviously going for the sub 3.

    Dear Joggers

Jissie. We were cycling down Chappies toward Hout Bay Sunday morning, and there's this part with an approx 3m shoulder in the striped yellow line. So I was just on the inside of the line, and this vet jogger tannie is throwing all kinds of hand signals and moving her lips with a "warrra warrra warrra" for me to get out of the yellow line... jeeez, so angry on a Sunday morning she was.
  8. WTF!!! Typical - Ministers busy with corruption. Probably some BEE company funded by the state, and some ape sitting at the top thinking he wants more shiny things.
  9. Whether an act is self-defense or not is based on subjective criterium. Therefor the person acting in self-defense must FEEL that his life/property is being threatened or endangered. There have been cases where X killed Y, when Y was pointing a plastic toy gun at X. X was not found guilty of murder because it was self-defense. Sure you will be charged with murder, and the onus in court will be on you to prove that you felt your life was in danger. But IMO having a gun (even toy) pointed at you from some distance away. Proving self-defense will be relatively painless(under circumstances) if you have a half-capable lawyer.
  10. https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/135814-roadies-shot-at-kiblerparklido-area/ There was this one in Gauteng... it's like the cancer these scum.
  11. Yeah, De Broglio advertises quite a lot. Think he works like that. Surely if you want to open a civil case for damages they have to provide the info!!?? Friggin ZoomersArmy (saps).
  12. So is a guy on a mtb welcome to join this August training ride?
  13. Agreed. You'll sell that thing for big bucks on ebay. I'm not going higher. You take it dips.
  14. Don't know. Will depend on components. But I suggest looking for a decent 2nd hand bike in classifieds on this here HUB. you will get something nicer than if you buy new. If possible ask a friend that knows his bikes to help you look. PS - Do you know what size bike you will need?
  15. Good deal and good bike for commuting.
  16. Kate Slegrova - Cycletraining. She's very good. http://www.cycletraining.co.za/
  17. With Kulula it is no extra costs if it is under your 20kg baggage limit. But I think they change their policies during the Argus so that you have to pay extra for a bike. Not sure though

    Gumtree Classics

Nah. Rhys probably broke in, stole the Dogma, and the cellphone and placed the ad for the dogma using the stolen cell. Anyway...DIBS on the saddlebag!
  19. Minor age in South Africa is 18, not 21. Children's Act 38 of 2005 (valid from 2007). So he was never a minor when he placed this ad.
  20. Oh yes, what he said. ASSuming both parties have contractual capacity (not a minor or under curatorship or mentally incapable). If not then the contract is void. s
  21. Yep. That's a contract and not sending it will be breach of contract on the sellers part. Probably not worth it to obtain (real life) legal advice, depending on the selling price (?). Technically you will have a claim for him to go through with the contract or you can cancel and get your money back. You can claim legal costs as well, but not without incurring legal fees and then you still don't have a guarantee that you will get your legal fees. (This will need to be dealt with in a court.. or settled) In any event, real ___ move by the seller. Edit: Removed bad word
  22. Sorry you had to go through that... And yep, Lynnwood Cyclery is way cool. Epic also cool.
  23. Nice! And No. Yes. And Yes. But the last week and a half the Hub has joined together as a family as it usually does when it's necessary.
