  1. Which is why i cant share . . .
  2. Super secret trail at tokai. Not the horse trails. So fast and flowing i was laughing all the way down. Its like that scene from star wars when they race through the forest on jet bikes. Should call the trail" the empire strikes back!" And no, i wont say where it is.
  3. **** you ! Err I mean yeah.
  4. About the same. Depends more on the geometry of the bike than whether it has a rear shock or not. Its all about finding the balance point
  5. Is it OK for me to read all 8 pages of this and wonder where the OP has gone? I assume hes still Ok . . .

    WP DH Champs

What hill were you walking up yesterday? its a bitch ,especially the last bit! But SOOOOOOOO worth it. Most fun ive had on my dh bike in a long time, and the only track where i could do 8 full runs in a row. Too bad the arm pump hit in run 9 , which was the race run...
  7. Siiiiiiiiiick!!!! Cant wait for race day. Really wanted to join for a build or two but work is a four letter word. Especially on Sundays...
  8. I only sent a fs frame. Boxed in a tv box. So it weighed about 5kg and was half the size of a bike box. At work we use saa cargo all the time when the factory leaves a little piece out of the truckload for jhb and we only realise the day before handover. But flying superwood shopfitting items around gets very expensive!
  9. Is this really81 pages of questions with no answers? For real ? Seriaas?
  10. Take it to the airport, saa cargo. Put it in a bike box and send it to whichever airport is closest to the destination. Jhb to cape town overnight cost me R170. If you go early in the morning it will be there late the same day. And saa cargo is open 24 hours a day. Easy as pie.
  11. Is there a point to this thread?
  12. it will still need some form of chain guide at the front, even if only for peace of mind. Nothing worse than having doubts about your chain still being there when you really wanna stand and hammer the pedals.
  13. The width will be slightly less than the inside width of the chain. Measure inside the 2 different links. I hear that Csixx is gonna be bringing out some xx1 compatible front rings. And I'm gonna try make my own by getting a ss front ring and grinding every second tooth narrower. For my 1x9 set up. 32 up front , butchered 11x36 at the back.
  14. What kind of bike to you ride? What kind of jumps are you wanting to try? If you have a hardtail yhen the jumps and pumptrack in Sun Valley are perfect to ride. All the jumps are rollable but still big enough for a mtb to have fun on. And not as simple to get all 6 perfect on the main line as you would think.
  15. I put 15 inch mags on my golf. Smoother on the road but not as fast in the twisty stuff as the old 14s...
  16. Weld done.
  17. I thought the build days were the club!
  18. Well my full speed anyway, trying to get that better too...
  19. The road gap aside, none of the other jumps are that big, and all can be cased or jumped short with out too much risk of crashing. But we do need more tabletop style jumps. I've always been the kind of rider to build up to the big stuff, not do or die like some, and its only in the last year that I'm comfortable hitting all the jumps full speed.
  20. So buy the bike, swap out the fork for MarzocchÍ 66 and you have a sweet freeride, heavy enduro bike. For 4 grand you won't get much better.
  21. Xxtension are a little known brand from the cayman islands ? Or some tax have like that. I have the DH version, bought the frame for a grand, and its awesome. Bullet proof build, not light though. I also had a pair of those forks, just play around with the oil level and viscosity and damping, which can only be changed by opening the fork. But they last forever, 5 years and no leaks. More reliable than boxxers...
  22. There should be a World Champs track down table mountain. Imagine, 800 meters vertical, 9 minute descent and a cablecar back to the top!
