  1. Important as well; Is your fore aft setting of the saddle so that your knee rises above the ball of your foot and the pedal axle (when your pedal stroke is at the 3'Oclock position looking from the drive side)???
  2. 1cm rise at a time is a LOT!!! Why did you rise the height anyway? I prefer 2-3mm increments at a time.
  3. Fanks for that clarification... Now I know that the answer to my question is posted elsewhere on the hub (in another topic / thread). Spank ya...
  4. Hey Drongo, Its Monday, and I am slightly slow... Ping and MODMERGE... Huh?
  5. Hi guys My common sense says, to drill two holes next to one another at the bottom of the BB shell. Johan, any recommendation on the size of the drill bit to be used? (2mm / 3mm) Regards
  6. Hi there I have "built" up 2x 29er bikes now, one my NINER RIP9 and a MOMSEN 29AL frame built as a SS bike. IMO the "custom built" bikes are more expensive, but you HAVE TO put the stuff on you want. Like that it will prevent you from developing upgrade-itis in the coming months. From the start, get the RIGHT set of wheels, that suits your riding style and weight, and build them onto an indestructible set of hubs. Your wheels will (could / should) be a set and forget item. Weight schmeight... If you are a race snake, and entering races to win them all, well, then you should get a superlight set of racing wheels. If you enjoy riding and racing, and do it for the love of the sport and fun, then the added 250g on wheels you can shed by going for 1. a pee before you ride 2. half the content of of one of your drinking bottles 3. a smaller hand-pump 4. just take one spare tube with you on rides, and for more weight saving, remove the sealant from the tube... I hope this helps in your decision on spending your HARD earned cash... Oh yes, enjoy your new bike Keep em rolling
  7. Hi Gr00tbaas Had a similar issue wit a saddle out of stock, ordered something else, and a day later the saddle was back in stock (even if date of stock showed later). Contacted customer services, and they apologized and sent the item with free shipping. My advice, take the matter up with their Customer service, explain the dilemma well, and ask for a solution from them... Hope this helps. Happy Hoopin
  8. Hi SkyLark I had an issue with a RP23 squeal. The funniest solution... I have a NINER RIP9, and the rear derailleur cabling runs past the RP23, and over time the cable moved to rub on the outer barrel of the shock. Moved the cable, and woilla... Check ALL possible related issues. I hope you find it SOOOOOON!!! It can / will drive you insane
  9. Now see what you have done, My 100th post is a bitchin session...
  10. Yip, how much more can this poor horse be flogged...

  15. Hi there guys Here's my trusted watch...
  16. Another suggestion: Pedal next to friend of yours with a Garmin (or something with GPS linkage), and compare the speed. km reading should be the same, and little variance on the .00 rwadings acceptable. Good luck
  17. Stan's Flow rim, Scwhalbe Racing Ralphs. Wheel measured under load, and circumference came to be 2240mm Good luck with that
  18. Hi RudoJ Here is the link to an add I saw last night; https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/14964-garmin-edge-500-bundle/ Hope it helps
  19. I'm with IRON... The Schwalbe Racinf Ralphs are really good too.
  20. Hi fellow Hubbers I said I would report back on the Hammer stuff, so here we go. Yesterday I went for a quick gym session (didn't kill myself, because I knew we were going for a night ride). After the gym I had a quick sandwich, and off we go on a planned 40km night ride. Armed with a bottle of HEED and a bottle of Perpetium, I was off. The ride panned out to be a 70km night ride, and bad nutrition running up to it. At the end of the ride, I was LEKKER moeg, but never ran out of energy. The HEED has a very immediate effect, and the Perpetium helps with sustained energy. Perpetium does not have the taste of an ice cold beer (especially after a ride), but the reason for drinking that is not taste, but nutrition and sustained energy. So, I have to conclude, the Hammer HEED and Perpetium ROCKS!!! Happy Hoopin'
  21. Just when you thought our cycling is on the map...
  22. Hi Hairy I also visit Bloem for business on a regular basis. There is a worthwhile shop called CycloTech, 0514334968 They are at the Noordstad shopping center. Chat with the guys there, they have night rides on Tuesdays and Thursdays (last when I was there). Some good okes and good fun. Enjoy your visit
  23. Hi guys I tried 32GI, and it works / feels like rocket-fuel... One of our fellow club riders had a bonk (bad afternoon on her bike), I handed her my bottle of 32GI, and in 10min she was cookin!!! I am now trying HEED for shorter rides (Hammer) and the Perpetium (Hammer) for longer than 2hr rides. Will give some feedback in due time. According to the websites and info I could find, Hammer products are mostly also suited for diabetics, with low GI peaks. Lets see...
  24. Hi fellow hubbers Here my latest project. Completed pics to follow DSC_7697small.pdfSOOOOON...
  25. Oh yes, any type of assembly compount (the grainy stuff) will help for carbon and aluminum. Use it, you will have to torque lower settings, and it will stop creeping and creaking.
