In the start chute feels helmet doesn't quite feel right - takes it off to readjust, guy next to her asks if she always keeps a set of gloves on her head!

Arrived at the Porcupine Hills mountainbike race in Franschoek to find I had only packed one cycle shoe. As I had driven up in slip slops I had no choice but to borrow my friends running shoe. He is a size 10, I am a size 4 we used insulation tape to get the shoe tight enough to stay on. I rode with one foot cleated and one enourmous foot trying to not catch the front wheel. looked like a clown, felt like a clown but I still had fun and it still makes us laugh a year later!.

Seriously? All this emotion about 2% of the race, of which the first half was as good as tar. Like someone said earlier the worst crashes happened on the tar not the gravel. If you chose not to enter because of that you missed a really great ride with excellent marshals. If you couldn't handle it no one was stopping you from riding with one foot uncleated and if that means you were going to loose your group they are better cyclists than you and deserve to come in 5min ahead of you. And no, I don't have a big c%ck.

Okay thats great news, he looked alive but pretty banged up we I went passed. I always feel so sick when someone dies at at a sporting event, they get up in the morning to do something they love and never make it home to their families in the afternoon. Slighly off topic but also what really bugged me was the food at the finish: Spur voucher - they only had meat burgers (at the W2W they had veggie burgers) and the other meal voucher would have got me a white bread and bovril sandwhich. No vegatarian options at all, at a metal concert that would be understandable but at the IM, really?

Spez don't allow online sales of their bikes or frames. I had to get someone to physically walk into and pay for for a frame in a LBS in Australia then courier it to me in SA. The LBS was adamant they could not post it themselves to myself or a friend in Sydney.

Yip that is def my old bike - Was built up at Bridge cycles in about 2003 with tiagra groupset - never replaced anything on it when I had it. wheels came off my partners scott probably about the same age as the bike. I LOVED that frame, get him to drop his price and upgrade the drivetrain and wheels, you wont regret it.

OMG, I think that's my old bike! If the seller is in Cape Town then it must be mine with 8 speed tiagra, I had it built up with tiagra, the wheels are my partners old wheels and the saddle belonged to an ex boyfriend.. Sold it about 3 years ago on Gumtree for about R4000 if I remember correctly. Damn I miss that bike - upgraded to carbon with Dura ace but still think about that bike often.
