  1. surely if they are fully welded there is no need for tape as the welded rim acts as rim tape??
  2. I just the the tubeless conversion on my new mtb. however i am struggling to get the wheels to properly hold air. i have sealant running out of the 2 holes in the sides of the rim and around the valve. a bit of shaking solved the issue but it keeps springing a leak. using stans sealant i opted not to use rim tape due to the "welded rims" http://www.eastoncycling.com/product/ea70-xct-837/ can anyone give me some advice? Thanks
  3. pictures will be added shortly... heeeeeee!!!
  4. Boom! 1x 2014 Cannondale flash 2 carbon in a the bag!!
  5. i had one where the left rail pushed through the stopper leaving me with a lopsided saddle. much fighting later it was replaced as a manufacturers defect

  7. Glasses, abs, pecs and amazing tan not included! LOL
  8. guys its simple. if its a prize and marked as a prize it is not taxable. unless of course it is in your usual business interests. i professional gambler will pay tax on his winnings. joe soap who wins the lotto wont.
  9. thats impressive. i once saw a tandem at the emporiors place classic ridden by 2 guys with muscular atrophy... also impressive
  10. Thanks will def give him a call!
  11. wheels have such hight stresses. generally speaking carbon frames can be easily repaired. carbon wheels, the stresses are to high. not a good idea...
  12. Hi all, i've got a business commitment that has me spending a weekend in Kimberley in September. i imagine MTB would be the way to go over Road in that area? are there some decent trail or bike parks that are worth visiting? Thanks!
  13. oooo! shiny!!
  14. thanks for the help guys, i've ridden the very entry level bike on the pump track at cyclelab. it was a large and even with the basic spec i couldn't get over how good the lefty felt. hence my interest in changing bikes... i'll keep you posted with my decision!
  15. they have both in store... i recon i am going to go in store and set the saddle height to my current setup. then check which looks more correct for the bike
  16. next issue. according to www.competitivecyclist.com i fall directly in-between a small and a medium size frame would going for the smaller frame be the better option rather than riding a frame ever so slightly to large?
  17. so the carbon 3 is out... and the 2013 Carbon 2 can be kitted with XT for about the difference in the bikes... R9k for full XT from CWC cycles... wheel wise which are better? the easton EA70's or the crest XTR's?
  18. should i be concerned about 90mm travel on the flash over the 100mm on the Giant?
  19. Hi All, need some advice. i currently ride a 2012 Giant XTC Composite 0 (standard kit with tubeless conversion) and i am seriously tempted by the follow 3 Cannondales 2014 Cannondale F29 Carbon 3 2013 Cannondale F29 Carbon 2 2014 Cannondale F29 Carbon 2 All of the above have the same carbon frames and forks. The 2014 Carbon 3 has basic WTB wheels. and i like the paint job. spec'd is mid level Sram. allu bars etc then the 2013 Carbon 2 has Stans ZTR Crest wheels. carbon crank and bars. save seatpost. Sram kitted. and to boot its not that much more than the 2014 Carbon 3. only think is the white grey is def not my first choice in bike colours... Finally the 2014 Carbon it is kitted with XT throughout. easton ea70 xtc wheels. and otherwise the same as the 2013 model.. its a fair bit more expensive over the 2013 model BUT its the paint job i want... so is it worth moving to cannondale? i hear once you go cannondale you never go back. or is my current steed more than adequate?
  20. www.bicyclebluebook.com might be worth a look. i find the prices on there way to high for the South African Market.
  21. SRM with clavicula crank for the win!
  22. soon!
  23. if anyone is interested https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/99642-campagnolo-10-speed-record-titanium-power-crank/
  24. i did this a few months ago. record 10 speed is a fair bit lighter than 11 chorus. and if well maintained there is not to much to choose between them in feel and movement. i do however prefer the newer STI's. also something to note: the record 10 speed has a carbon front and rear derailleur, the chorus 11 is not carbon. hard to say if it is a upgrade or just a change, or maybe a downgrade due to the extra weight? this is a call you are going to have to make IMO having the extra gear hasn't made any impact on my riding whatsoever.
