  1. I think I am ready to roll.
  2. That was my next port o call. Thanks for the heads up. Maybe riding without socks and a good inner will work. Done it before when cheap socks were unavailable. Worked for me.
  3. Nah, Crazy Store range and prices beats Shopright in the clothing department!!
  4. Ha Ha, Out of the machine, as clean as ......
  5. Very fashionable price too, 3prs for R50.
  6. The socks are flipping in fashion! Sorry to say this because fashion is out of fashion. Baby blue with yellow stripes. Maybe I should post a pic.
  7. Well said BA. I thought I would try socks I saw at The Crazy Store 3prs for R50. 100% cotton so they don't hold shape but are fine/great for cycling. love these and are so worth it as i also wear them to work every day. Happy days.
  8. Ha ha! Great retort Sixer.
  9. Well done! Respec! (Note to self - Never, NEVER have a mid life crisis of any sort!)

Unbelievable finish. There was nothing in it until last night. The Boss must have had some trouble as it was driven very hard. Real men these.
  11. Noooooooooooooo!!!!!
  12. I have over 20 provisional orders for saddle bags so I will need to speak to the factory soon. Anybody else for some of these bags before the cuttings starts? I may make some extras just in case. Thanks to those who have shown interest.
  13. Thanks LG. Appreciate it. Just feel it may not work and these things need to be matched with the bike bag. Will look at bending myself and see what happens. Otherwise I will stick with my modified and adapted Topeak bag clamp.
  14. @Loose cog I like the concept. Is it possible to obtain just the bracket separately? The double fixing points on the stem and bar is what I am after.
  15. As Eddy says...... The only way to "hit the road". Well said Eddy.
  16. And you have done some serious trekking in your time. Great to hear from those who have done extended trips.
  17. How could I? It's a win for JR from all angles.
  18. I only tour solo. Nobody wants to ride with a grumpy, unfit, sickly old man. I prefer it this way and I have no family to worry about etc. Having people wait for you at the end of each day is like "supported touring" and maybe it is selfish to expect them to be waiting for you? I find it better to stop where I want to stop and overnight instead of having a plan and MUST stick to it. But then, this is just me, little left field I suppose. Even on your own, just do it. Now.
  19. Next week end? Late notice, very late notice for out of towners. Would like to have done this having toured the route previously.
  20. As Tubed says. All the pre-prep etc bores me as I am unable to download tracks, maps, weigh-points?????(old school)so I find it more interesting to wing it. Really enjoy this solitude and not knowing "exactly" where you are. I may come unstuck someday though.
  21. I think it is a Selby "Cobra". Very rare and they do have a bite.
  22. Thanks LG, simple but workable. I like the idea. Might just bend something up based on this. Need to get my roll bag away from the cables and may drop it to above my wheel and lower the weight distribution on the steering? Your set up has unlimited possibilities.
  23. Looks like you are ready to go. What handle bar bag is that? Interested to see how it is fixed to the bar?
