  1. Wow. I sincerely wish you the best of luck and hopefully some day I'll pass through your place.
  2. Sure, but CSA can object if riders deserving of a place in the squad are omitted. This is a highly political environment so we should probably leave it at that. Agree 100% on how CSA money is spent.
  3. dont get confused between CSA and SASCOC. CSA may submit a list of riders for the Olympics but I think you will find that it is SASCOC who choose who eventually goes to the Olympics and who doesn't.
  4. nothing on the ''PE to Plett'' facebook page or http://www.peplett.co.za/ It was such a great marketing idea that seems to have ended with a massive wimper.
  5. I'm guessing the emails have gone out and the winners have 72hrs to redpond. Only once the winners have confirmed, in case a redraw is necessary, will they announce the winners formerly. I hope I'm wrong though.
  6. me neither....could the unthinkable have happened ........no hubber is among the winners ? Surely not ?
  7. emails from the Nigerian scammers don't count
  8. has anyone checked to see if they have any strava notifications ?
  9. this has to go down as one of the most unproductive days ever.........

  12. Nedbank - Sani2C Old Mutual - Joberg2C looks like std bank have just woken up.
  13. the cloth cuts both ways here....if you can't keep up on the district roads and long climbs...maybe you should stick to technical cross country. The person has earned their right to be there...yes, in front of you...respect it. most people will move over, some even ask, Consider asking if you can come past at the next opportunity in instead of just shouting "Coming through". The truly good riders, usually those front runners who've had a technical, somehow seem to pass with such easy anyway.
  14. Get them delivered to a mate overseas who can get someone to bring them back from an overseas trip for you.
  15. Soda ash blasting is an option. If you can find someone who does it. They often use it with vintage cars as it is surface friendly.
  16. Trust me, Jorrie & Dave will be well in front of me.

  18. Karin, contact the guys at concept cyclery (031 7621416). There is a cross country track off Inanda rd between Hillcrest and Waterfall. They often organise a Wednesday afternoon ride there, around 4pm.
  19. or create a chicken run at all the technical points (read scary) and say that there are chicken and bull run options. i would hazard a guess and say that most people are afraid of falling and hurting themselves so a technical climb might not be judged technical because they would probably walk it anyway. it's the steep downhill/drop offs and rocks (especially rocks) that make people nervous & cautious.
  20. its about volume of sales. In motorbikes the R&D costs are spread across 10's of thousands of units sold where in bicycles the number of unis sold is probably in the low thousands.
  21. Is that even possible...surely pharmaceutical companies have stringent measures in place to prevent this?
