  1. I started accumulating scars at a young age.
  2. Eish. Hope it heals well dude. Yeah, I turned around briefly to see where the wife was and a branch scraped my upper arm right into the armpit. I now have a permanent scar across the top of my bicep.
  3. We only sell Reverbs and KS. KS Lev external is the only one I use.
  4. The other option is to go for a dropper like the external KS Lev which uses external routing but the cable is actuated at the collar so that it doesn't move with the saddle.
  5. There just aren't enough sales to justify it. To give you an idea we have sold plenty 110s but have yet to sell a medium.
  6. Yes please. I was so busy in the shop I couldn't get out to take a single picture...
  7. Since I posted about experiencing brake jacking for the initial couple of rides on my Pascoe its been bugging me because I haven't had it or even thought about it since those first outings. I don't get much chance to ride these days but in the last few rides I've done, I have ridden hard and attacked bumpy braking zones to see if the rear becomes skittish, stiffens up or misbehaves in any way. All I get now is planted, active traction under all braking situations. I can't explain why it only happened for a couple of rides but whatever it was I'm glad it went away. I challenge anyone to come to our demo day on Saturday morning and try and induce brake jack on a Pyga.
  8. 12th Sept is a major Pyga test day at The Trailhead. The launch of the new carbon XC machine the 'Stage' and the carbon trailbike the 'Stage Max'. Plus the regular ally trail bikes and new hardtails will be available.
  9. On the brake jack issue. Yes it does suffer from it. My previous VPP bike had such an active rear end under braking which meant I became used to just mashing the rear brake into braking bumps and ruts without any undue concern. Within a ride or two on the Pascoe I adapted - probably because my left trigger finger became much more sensitive on the rear stopper. I don't even think about it at all during a long gnarly, descent with hard braking. I kinda like the fact that it's go a bit of a quirk otherwise it does everything so damn well it would be a tad bland without the slight braking issue. Next time I see Pat or Mark I will ask them why the design compromise... The only thing I notice is that rear pad wear is more or equal to the front which is unusual for me. Just as well I use Hope brakes where you can dial in your bite point nicely to give any type of modulation you desire. edith: grandma and sphelling
  10. You need to know what you are looking for from a fork when setting it up. It's incredibly adjustable. Takes a while to find the sweet spot. So you need to know what you are doing. You can adjust settings depending on what type of trails you ride. Or find a setting that works for most terrain. All I know is that I'm still tweaking...
  11. It's friggen awesome. http://www.vitalmtb.com/product/guide/Forks,33/DVO/Diamond,15238
  12. Which is why the IXS has been so popular...
  13. I was there. Good times!
  14. Wayne, I'm yet to have a puncture with my single ply WTB 2.3 Vigilante on the front. I run the super strong dual ply WTB 2.2 or Wolverine or 2.25 Trailboss on the rear and haven't had a rear flat since doing so even though most of my riding is at Hakahana. I'm nearly 100kgs too... Also stock the full Onza range but I havent tested them out myself yet.
  15. Sweet Warren. Glad we could help. We do this more often than you think. haha Sorry that your XT calliper stuffed out though. I see everyone got sorted with the answers on the GX build. We have only got one more brand new Reverb at R3500.00
  16. On dual sus frames and carbon frames in particular, if you don't look after bearings and they start seizing up, then you are causing stresses in the frame which could lead to cracking.
  17. Without a dropper post? lol Even Cube Stereo HPC 29" comes with a Reverb.
  18. I'm guessing it was the single ply Bronson 2.3? The new dual ply Bronson (which is the only one the agents bring in now) has thick, strong sidewalls which you can't even bend. I've ridden them at Hakahana with dried up sealant and yet to have a puncture on my trail hardtail.
  19. If you come into the shop we can chat.
  20. Carbon rims and a Pike on a 110. That's proper!
  21. That will make you a better rider (I also have only 2 bikes now: SS and Pascoe. But the SS has 140mm up front and a dropper ). There are many okes who have ditched their XC machines recently - mostly thanks to Pyga... Yeah, you will probably see Jayhound. I'm away this weekend.
  22. Nice man. Also delving into the dark side...
  23. https://www.sram.com/sram/mountain/family/gx Very clever new move by SRAM
  24. Yes. Doesn't include the Reverb dropper though and the forks are the RC versions (not RCT3).
