  1. If it is a Nice holiday you are after. Myself and a couple of friends have entered IM Nice 2011, coming?
  2. There was a long thread on WW a while ago about how the straps "streched" with use? Has this been sorted?
  3. search for Todd Wells on youtube and hear his take on it - sure it might be marketing, but I have not heard a single bad thing pbaout a 29er. Flog a 26er just to get a 29er probably not, but then I sold my 26er a couple of months ago alrady...
  4. I have the pearly white SIDI Eagle 6 - love them (and wash them often) They are pearl - as my mates pointed out, perfec for dancing! There is a certain hubber who will have the white/black 2011 S-works shoes soon (end of Movember) I still rate the yellow Mavrics high on the bling-o-meter...
  5. Bayer Milko Balm - kry dit by die kooperasie! My Epic/Joberg2c laughed at me initially. After a couple of days he borrowed some of it. He had to apply it himself though unlike that Capetonian and Mighty Mouse
  6. Sure, have you seen what the price of a Rohloff hub is - I think Campy electric will be cheaper...
  7. Just another tip, you have to make sure what measurement the manufacturer uses to size its bikes - best is to check geometry on the websites. Pinarello typically measures their bikes c to c on the seat tube. which would make probably make the bike in question a 57cm, which is very large bicycle. I rode a 51,5cm Pinarello F4:13, which seems like a small bike. The top tube was 54cm. Bianchi have also been measuring their bikes by the top tube lately, like most American bikes. If you intend buying a second hand bike, measure the effective top tube and compare to what you have. Pity about the lost cash dude....
  8. Sorry...
  9. Nope Mongoose, that is the RB1000, not a TT frame. They look quite cool, but the colour schemes :-( - mostly black and some neon colour. untitled.bmp
  10. I agree, just lost out on a 2010 Superfly 29er on ebay uk site last week - it went for £1500, and in very good nick... You can buy fly to Eur/US and buy most bikes, spend a couple of days and have spare cash...
  11. James, I have been using Wipperman chain links for about 4 years now. They are great! I once made the mistake of using a Wipperman link for too long... The link came loos under power, the chain slapped around the crankset and hit a chip in the downtube, the bunch rode over and bet about 3 links (must have been some heavies there) and I had to push home, as the bent chain would not drive my bike... So, my 2c worth - Get a new link with at least your 3 chain! Preferably every chain...
  12. As far as I know the agency has gone to emotion cycling - the same guys that do cervelo and volcan. National cycles now imports Ridley...
  13. This is bull... On my way to out! We really don't need this. We pay tax to government to provide services such as safety and security. Not freakin expensive cars and parties and crap! AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHGH!
  14. which one do you think is better looking? If equally specced I don't think there is much to choose between the two...
  15. Karl - these are not the original kits , that much I can guarantee you! All of the team kits are made in Europe by the likes of Castelli,Agu,Santini,Nalini etc... All of them have proprietary chamois etc. and do not use Coolmax padding. These are common Chinese fakes, but if it makes you happy, those 8 year olds need to eat I suppose
  16. I spent Saturday morning at the monument and thoroughly enjoyed it... Trails are lekke just a bit rough still but with a bit of traffic this is going to become an awesome place to ride

    Cos it looks crap...
  18. Do's and don't s you want... Do: Pay your insurance premiums Race hard Stick some sort of protection on the downtube and around the BB (that plastic stuff bikers stick on their fuel tanks works well) Don't : Listen to people who says you should ride a metal bike. I just got an insurance payout for my '06 Specialized Sworks HT on Monday -
  19. Hi ASG - Care to shed some light on the new 2011 range of Pinarello bikes? New Paris over the Prince, so Prince now #4 in the range after Dogma,Kobh,Paris, then FP4?? Are they not stuffing around like Nissan has been in SA, launching and replacing models and thereby "losing" much of its appeal in stead of Toyota keeping the Corolla and just improving it? All bike brands keep their model names i.e. Specialized Tarmac SL/SL2/SL3. Bianchi 928,928L,928SL,928SL ISP.
  20. JJ, just like Groenkloof - take your R25 and go ride... The trails are quite popular for running as well - there was a trail running race there on Sat. I'm going to try to go one afternoon this week. The VTM can really do with our hard earned R25's as they do not get the support they used to from the govt. To give you an idea - annually they receive about 20% of what the freedom park (the flagpoles on the other side of the koppie) gets... Big thumbs up to Genl Opperman, Dylan, Marais and the chaps from Nature Conservation!!!
  21. Just to wet the appetites a bit...
  22. Thsi just landed in my Inbox - not directly, but from Dylan Victor! SINGLE TRACK SUNDAY Ride @ Voortrekker Monument @ 08h00 Howzit Everybody! Saturday, 17 July 2010 is the XCO National at Fountains, which I'm sure many of us will be riding. However, on Sunday, 18 July I would love to show-off all the new routes around the Voortrekker Monument! The trails are being purposely built for the race on 7 August 2010, and they should be about 70% done by the end of this week. It's taken a lot of sweat and grind, but the new trails are proving to be some awesome riding! So just to summarise, here's what's happening: Distance: The ride this Sunday will be about a 40 - 50km ride. Medium pace. Where: Meet at the entrance to the Voortrekker Monument Time: 08h00 *Note: Please remember to bring R20 for entry to the Voortrekker Monument. And remember, ALL ARE WELCOME, so spread the word!
  23. So I was one of the few who bought the first model - Edge305. I had no issues for two years now, it worked perfectly well until about a month ago... The unit seems to switch itself off when bumped i.e jumpin something or riding over rough terrain. Fine for road riding but USELESS for MTBing... Does anyone know who I can contact, who are the local distributors etc?? Thanks
  24. Ingsma, I do not know if you have his name. He bought the Guerciotti bike he sold on thehub from Bruce Reyneke cycles - phone them as they might have his details. They have quite a big database of client info...
  25. Agreed, I only took R20! Luckily my mates had extra cash with them. Strangely enough I did not see a sign to this effect, nor did we get a permit/receipt or aything. Those gatekeepers must be making good moolah on a weekend! Planning on riding at VTM this week, what are the entry fees there?
