This one - has it made ot to production?

    Matrix tandem

I used to ride behind a number of these tandems regularly in club rides. Some strange flexing occurred under load - or my eyes were fooling me as I tried to keep up. Have not heard of a single frame that broke though... There used to be guy on here who was the importer - bonty, does he still bring em in? Pretty light for a tandem, but the cannondales are just sooo reliable and with Omnico backup you cannot go wrong. Or what about that Spez tandem that someone posted on here about 18 months ago, remember the one with the belt drive and integrated everything?
  4. You'll be fine - I did the same last year. Its a downhill race isnt it? Joberg - 1200m Scottburgh - 0m
  5. or a Merak maybe?
  6. There you have it...If you want to get a de Rosa. get a proper one. Merak or Idol, they are sweet! But steer clear of the cheaper rebranded frames. Soem Italians do that thoug, I remember the Guerciotti Cartesio and Ciocc Black Pearl was exactly the same Dedacciai frame a couple of years ago...
  7. De ROsa bikes are really cool and has pedigree... Some of the best looking paintjobs out there too! But R20k is a lot for a Veloce specced bike?
  8. There was two of them for sale here recently - I think they went south of R45k... Good bikes, but like all other top end stuff, no resale value!
  9. Parts don't carry duties anyway. You'll pay VAT at a higher rate than SA, so essentially you'll be saving shipping only... Think carefully before going overboard and shooting yourself in the foot.
  10. Are you for real? Doubt whether you'll be sitting in (or near) a bunch with that concoction inside you
  11. Here we go again...
  12. The last wrenchman to work on your bike...ever! Good luck with the venture Hannes! All Hubbers - you will not regret it!
  13. No Hr monitor works in the water - H2O is a conductor.
  14. X-Grant Cycles?? Have they closed down?
  15. I am no lawyer, but AFAIK a buyer and seller needs to agree on a couple of things, one of them being the goods - "koopsaak" as described in the acts. It is obvious that the buyer and seller agreed on the goods, BUT on a wheelset much newer than the ones Edge eventually received. If my thinking is correct, it is misrepresentation on the side of the seller and the transaction is regarded as null and void. It is like selling a E300 Merc to someone, who then finds out 2 days later that the actual product is an old E320... Good luck Edge
  16. Bayer - Milko balm. Same price as Assos - the tub is bit bigger though. Teammate laughed at me initially- On day 3 he peeped out of his tent and said - "Kan ek bietjie van daai melksaf van jou leen" The rest is history
  17. 15% on complete bikes. Parts or sections of bike , zero...
  18. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Avid brakes. As for the wheels - Teammate rode those wheels through an Epic/J2C/Transbaviaans among others. They will handle almost everythong you can throw at it...
  19. Flash without a doubt - The Flash 29er 3 is a carbon frame as far as I know. The only ali 29er Cannondale makes is called a Trail 29er... X-7 is more than adequate and cheap to maintain, you could gradually replace with X-O or XX if you wish to. Lefty is much like 29er - those whoe ride them know. All others are sceptical
  20. The Polar computers will allways use the RR data received from either a speed sensor or stride sensor(running) in favour of GPS. So, if you use both - the unit will not register/track/recognise the GPS unit. The reason is that Polar believes the sensors are more accurate than GPS. This is what I gathered from reading on the polar forum at www.polar.fi
  21. I know Julius k@ked on one agent a while ago at the ANC HQ? Maybe it is him? No, jokes aside - pm KIWI, he is bound to know...
  22. New, around 22-25k. Expensive shock,Expensive group - relatively cheap frame. Assuming it is new. 2nd hand - R9-12k
  23. Thanks Spinnekop, I know they do. But I am in the UK now, will source locally. Seems like www.probikekit have got 66mm bottles. The Dogma bottles would go nicely though. Maybe get the wife to "import" some back to the UK from SA (now, that does NOT makes sense), when she goes next week...
  24. Ta, the fountain of knowledge that is thehubsa!! Now for some internet shopping for Elite bajiji bottles it seems...
  25. I got a new bike yesterday, and it came with Elite bottlecages fitted ( I'm lucky I suppose) - I could swear they are "narrower" than standard cages. Am I imagining things?
