  1. Those things take a hell of a lot of water to digest - take them (if you want , but drink PLENTY of H20. Failure to do so will almost certainly cause cramping...I have experience of this - and don't use them unless I absolutely have to.
  2. There is a fair chance that you'll end up with a broken frame again, but I would go for the Cervelo until then...
  3. And now Bikewear price is R3199, I bought last week when it was R3999... Marvellous and fantastic!!
  4. Well, check out www.bethesda.co.za - same people and bethesda has been in business for ever - safe as a house IMO
  5. Could this be a new version of Microsoft's popular "X-Box 360" gaming consol? "Consol" - The Consolidated Glass company, manufacturers of the screw top bottles most grandmothers use for jams etc. I think you mean console??
  6. I have had Specialized shoes (both MTB and Road) for the last 4-5 years - (my entire cyling career) In August 2009 I bought a pair of Sidi Eagle6 MTB shoes from CRC. The moment I put them on I started looking at which road shoe I am going to buy. Got Ergo2 last week and Friday and they are even better. I have never had DMT shoes, but you cannot go wrong with Sidi!! They are fairly naroow though, so best you try them on before you buy . Prices of the Ergo2 are a bit steep - Should be around R3700 - R4000. www.bikewear.co.za CRC - R2800 + VAT + 40% duties (unless you are VERY lucky and it slips through) +- R4000.
  7. I ride alesser Pinarello. The Dogma will not make me go faster, but I might look faster and that is what keeps the industry alive... Had a conversation with a fellow club member on the weekend and it went like this : M(e) : Hey L..., I believe there is a new Colnago agent is SA again. H(im) : That is tragic news. M : Why do you say that, you are a die hard fan ?(He has a Master, C40 and C50HP) H: Because I really don't need another bike. If this guy had been a Pina fan, he would probably buy a new Dogma. Would it be faster? No Would it be a better looking? Maybe Would he enjoy cycling more? I doubt As a friend once said, from the saddle of a Bora Ultra, Campy Record specced Kuota Kharma once said : "It is not abput how fast you go, it is about how good it looks when you are going slow" @GO: Can you quote the abovemnetioned Colnago fan on a new bike -pm me.
  8. Check out Selectcyclingclub.co.za or have a chat to Cyclelab Centurion
  9. I have Time Atac XS and I love them, excellent in all things MTB'ers can moan about, mud, float, ease of clipping in/out. I doubt wether I'll ever ride anything else...
  10. There is a phone number on the website - Brian is the importer. He was in my team at the DC. A number of club members rave about the Tank Tandems and Brian's Matrix Roadbike is very, very, very light... THe MTB's look quite cool as well
  11. What do you tell the insurance? That you left the bike in front of a truck in an incident of road rage? I don't think te will pay out... Then tell everybody and anybody and post pics on a public forum after you have had the bike replaced by the insurance company... Someone might ask difficult questions @GO - Your PRINCE is still 100%,I regularly ride with the new owner
  12. Overheard a comment at the finish that a team of which two riders finished boasted about stilling getting a finish, because the two riders took all the timing chips...? I do not know whether it is possible, or if they were just joking, but I am amazed that people can actually come up with the idea!
  13. I'll try. What I know so far is that the design was done by a chap by the name of Len Dekker and that it has cost quite a bit to build. I'm not sure if my employer will know exactly what I mean if I ask about XC or DH tracks...
  14. Just had it confirmed. My boss is on the board of the monument. It was discussed at a recent meeting - they are building new tracks. Should launch somewhere in November - can't wait.!
  15. Bike parts carry no duty, correct? If one would purchase a frame , would that carry any duties? It does seem like one could save a couple of Ronds if you import a frame?
  16. Francois du Toit still builds frames I think - try dutoitcycles.co.za
  17. Campag and the Ikes!!!! Competition commissions would not allow the sale to Shimano...
  18. Pride is a strange thing MD, I dont think any shopowner will admit if a member of the public randomly phones and asks how the relationship with the bank manager is doing????
  19. So here's something thats worrying... I've heard a little bird singing that another of the established bike shops in Jhb is on the way out . Apparently Illovo cycles are in a spot of bother. Does anyone know if this is true or is it just a malicious rumour?? Maybe I should stop ordering stuff from CRC, otherwise I'll have to service my own bike soon, and I'm a pen pusher, can hardly change a tyre myself.
  20. Calendar is quite full around here, but what about April/May somewhere. Weather is still okay-ish and it wouldn't clash with Cape one. I think it will be a hit! Magaliesburg is good but there are sooooo many races around there...
  21. Can anyone help? My Sigma light attachment thingy does not fit well on my oversized bars and as a result my bartape and cable housing sget damaged when I fit the light . Does anyone know if Sigma makes one that fits oversized bars and where can I get it - Omnico??
  22. Sunday morning aroun Roodeplaat dam is about 70km if you start from Brooklyn Mall. Although it is the Moloto Road, there isn't much traffic , and plenty cyclists to help ICE
  23. All the pink Pinarellos are very ehh Whats the word... effimate... I have never seen a male ride one of them though, but it would be pretty gay.
  24. So, three hours into the TransBaviaans my Garmin Edge 305 decides to auto stop, and start making this VERY irritating humming noise... Had to shove it into my back pocket to keep the noise out of my ears. Monday morning, with a flat battery, plugged it into the wall to charge and everything seems perfect? Has anyone ever experienced a similar problem or should I be worried?
  25. Bow out, sure . Gracefully... How do you do that?
