  1. Hi Martin, I can't offer much useful advice, but I did find this topic from a number of years back that might help. https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/1144-wheelsets-weight-limit/?hl=weight+limit All the best in your journey back to health, I hope you find the right bike for you.
  2. He has become the king of the Drew household
  3. And yet my red bike isn't selling despite a price drop, and maybe even a 'negotiable'. Must be the XS frame .. or the recession..... or it's priced too high or maybe there's a lack of super short cyclists out there
  4. Another year, another post to remember our old friend. Time moves so quickly. I felt sad for his boys today, the anniversary of the loss of a parent never seems to get easier. I hope many of you will join me in raising a glass to him today. Since I don't have any Guinness, a glass of merlot will have to suffice. Here's to Holy Roller.
  5. Incredible achievement, well done Cat-i!! You shouldn't have underestimated yourself
  6. Hard to believe 2 years have passed. I think about him a lot.
  7. I can't speak for the others, but Scar is doing great. I can't remember life before him.. there is never a dull moment with this big oaf. We love him to bits
  8. Knead your dough well, but because it's a sticky dough, don't be tempted to add too much flour. It needs the moisture to create steam which causes it to puff up. When they come out of the oven wrap them in a tea towel so that they don't dry out oh and don't roll them out too thick otherwise they won't puff
  9. A very rare moment of keeping still for Scar boy
  10. I can't believe a year has passed. I thought it would be apt to post an update on one of his fur children that has become a family member in the Drew household. Apart from the time that he chewed the kitchen door, or the time that he chased Friskey cat so that she didn't come home for a month, or the time the couch cushion exploded, he's adapted extremely well to his new home and quite honestly I can't remember life before Scar.. so here are some pics. I hope the others are all doing as well as he is.
  11. He's a very happy and boisterous boy! He nearly knocks me off my feet from excitement when I get home everyday. He's settled in nicely with our elderly Jack Russell, and our 3 cats keep him in line (he gets regular slaps if he gets too close) I'm completely and utterly in love with the mutt and can't really remember life before him. I should ask IanJ if he can maybe put an update on all of the others on the Barry thread. It'll be nice to know how they're doing.
  12. Excuse my ignorance, maybe it's obvious to many, but why isn't it a good idea? What are the risks?
  13. Sorry Robbie, it's never easy saying goodbye
  14. Thanks Ed, looks like I have Eureka growing in my garden. It's really cool having lemons readily available for all the baking that I do
  15. That's interesting, I haven't experienced this problem. I'm not sure of the names of the different lemon varieties we have here in SA, but were you possibly using the type with the really knobbly thick skin? The bitterness in a lemon comes from the pith, and those thicker variety have quite a thick pith. I generally use the thin skinned type of lemon which has a very thin pith.
  16. You'll probably get more flavour from halved lemons under the meat rather than just the juice
  17. Infuriating! I watched a woman in the car in front of me get distracted the other day and started veering directly towards a cyclist. I started hooting and she quickly realised and corrected. How she didn't clip him is beyond me, she was literally 2cms away. I've also had a guy clip me with his side mirror and continue driving away once. I was very shaken but also happy to see his mirror dangling down the side of his car. It was on the South road uphill so I was never going to catch up to him.
  18. This was most probably the case with wannabe's wife, but he also said that the ITSA stated that there was nothing due to them. I would personally ask for a re-assessment. Unless there was tax due from a previous assessment and SARS decided the refund belonged to them.
  19. Yes, her PAYE deduction is her tax contribution. If she had tax deducted then she couldn't have been under the threshold. Unless the months she was employed and contributing were in a different tax year?
  20. So I know this isn't a cooking tip/recipe, but I thought it would be appropriate to share here being a cycling forum My most recent project: TDF cookies
  21. ......and soon that list will expand to include some twins I'm sure ;-)
  22. It's that little gadget that you used to carry around in your sock for your kuif back in the 70's
