    The Munga

Ye that why i asked because those that hodled their prize would be smiling today But no Prize money this year ! thats crazy, but shows the level of participants - They not in it for the prize money its more about the glory which is great. I remember going to the original launch event of Munga where the prize money was $ 1.0 mill - Well that went south very quickly to $ 0 today

  4. I've bought from them but had it shipped to UK as i was visiting my kids so never shipped to ZA Their prices are very good service was good but took a while for delivery approx 5 - 6 days from Spain to UK I bought my USWE backak for R 1 300.00 locally they were R 3 500.00 for same thing
  5. Its probably better than the original - All mine bought locally had the top layer of rubber peeling off in first 12 months absolute crapest bar tape i ever used
  6. Depending on how its used, there is a legal issue on this - Don't get me wrong, I fully support it BUT ! We had the same systm on construction equipment we sold as the OEM. Our clients were mainly rental shops who used to get their equipment stolen fairly often. they would then send us the SER No's which we entered onto our workshop database. Inevitably most of these machines would come into our workshop for repairs and service at some point. We would then contact the original owner as well as inform the current owner that the machine was stolen. In the begining and being naive to the law, we handed then machine back to the original owner only to get charged by the new owner for theft, on top we were sued for a replacement machine or same value in cash. Which we lost in court. So what does the law tell us to do Finding a possibly stolen machine we had to inform the original owner that we were in possesion of his stolen machine that he reported to us. As well as inform the new owner that the machine was stolen. The original owner then needs to contact the investigsating officer at SAPS to come collect the machine as proof/evidence of the crime - If the machine was insured then the insurance company has to be informed by the original owner who in turn must contact the SAPS to collect the machine. Once the machine is collected by SAPS, only they can decide to hand it back to the original owner or the insurance company, or keep it as evidence for any possible court case. If none of the above happens then we were obliged to hand back the machine to the new owner who originally brought it in for repair. So according to the law you can only hand back the machine to the SAPS or the new owner. In most cases we handed it back to the new owner as SAPS were not interested in coming to our offices or the investigating officer had closed the file or could not be contacted even though the original owner was standing there watching this all happen. If we handed it back to the original owner we would get charged with theft and expected to make the new owner whole again. It became such a ball ache we stopped doing it - we simply informed the original owner we had recieved the machine and gave the new owners details to let them sort it out between themsleves. And heres the kicker - Now with the new Poppi act (or whatever its called) you cant even give the new owners details to the original owner - He can sue you for breach of privacy. The bottom line is only the SAPS have the legal right to confiscate propery suspected of being stolen and its up to them what happens after that. So the only thing a bike shop can do is contact the original owner which is useless because they cannot hand the bike back to him or Contact the investigating officer if their details are recorded with a case number and hand it over to him as stolen property for confiscation. I wonder how many bike shops are willing to get this involved when they realise the ball ache
  7. This gonna be epic to watch - please post where we can support his cause
  8. Interesting question I use my 830 on all IDT sessions on IV/TPV for Disco points mainly - On all the seesions recorded in Connect it has my speed & power stats not sure if its getting it off the app or the trainer - I would imagine its from the smart trainer
  9. I agree - I think both TR & ZWIFT are gonna see a lot of customers migrating over - Its really a good deal considering what you get. Its still not as good as ZWIFT but in a year or 2 i think it will be better
  10. Had this issue for my wife to get her points, i got an old FitBit IONIC which seemed to work fine but then got a VERSA 2 for cheap and it works perfect once linked - Just make sure the model you get can track and record your ave HR on a session as some of the smaller models track while you riding but dont record it too upload afterwards
  11. If you ride in a group - Then ride at the back
  12. I agree on the pacer, its no where near as good as ZWIFT. Been doing lots of Z2 work with Olie - Very fast on the downhills and extremly slow on the uphills. Its actually a challenge to stay with him. The pack dynamics just don't seem to work properly at all. When a nice group forms on the front it always seems to speed up and eventually drop the pacer, then the gtroup disintergrates to 1 or 2 riders because most were bots who jump in and out for the route, so i always try stay behind the pacer, but you need to keep your eye on the distance he is ahead as in different sections he suddenly speeds up and will drop you in a matter of seconds. One minute you sitting riding tempo on his wheel and the next you in a full out sprint trying to get on his wheel again.
  13. Contact Robbies Bicycle Concept in PE to get a quote and decide from there https://www.rbco.co.za/
  14. You forgot - Water tables every 500m each with topless girls and a pole dancer
  15. Insane - I'd like to know how may riders have actually paid for this - Even social elite rich dudes on MTB's would surely laugh at it
  16. Look at the TITAN range - For me they are the best bang for your buck in terms of brand new
  17. Mine hasn't updated still reflects IV - My pc tells me its all a conspiracy this whole thing of TP buying IV
  18. I messed around in it this afternoon - Pretty cool - I uploaded my modders route from a few weekends back - wow !! some of the inclines i could hardly pedal but i suppose one needs to get the settings dialed in But I also loaded the pacer activity from IV - basically feels exactly the same. Haha the graphics really suck though - I was riding through a tunnel only to rise up through the roof onto another road above - Dont really care for the graphics as long as i get the training session in at the zone I want. Nice alternative
  19. Daaaamit ! - Just as i was getting into it, they come along and spoil the party. Oh well - I suppose Rainmaker is right - these platforms have to start charging at some point or they end up in the trash can. At least now IndieVelo will have long term sustainability I'll run it until they start charging & then re-evaluate - Not interested in TrainingPeaks - Intervals.icu gives me the data i need. But i suppose that will get sold off or start charging a fee as well sometime in the future. I only wish they would offer switch on switch off monthly subs like ZWIFT for those months its not beng used. Maybe a tier system 1. Full Training Peaks premium + Virtual training and racing = Full suite 2. Virtual training and racing = 1/2 suite 3. virtual training = 1/3 suite its all about options But looking at TrainingPeaks pricing, the prem fee is about $10.42 / month if you pay annually - If that includes IndieVelo, well then sign me up Scotty
  20. Well it works the same as car thieves - everytime new tech comes out to protect or track your vehicle, thieves will find a way round it. Cyclits will do the same to stay in the game. The banned list will eventually get so long that riders will only be allowed to drink water eventually
  21. They say there are only 2 types of cyclists - those who have fallen and those who will fall
  22. TREK lifetime warranty on frame should take care of that
  23. After this week i'm in the same boat - My first challenge everyday is getting motivated to get off my fat @ss and on to my trianer and then having to reset and start again on a complelty different platform just makes me grumpy. And you right Indie just works, i've only had a couple of instances of a power drop where you stop pedaling and you can see on the power graph its zero, but that only lasts about a second or 2 and you off again Just wish i could distinguish between who is a bot and who is actually human - I always seem to be riding with female riders which does my ego good 👀 but then realising they all bots is kind of deflating 😁
  24. Anyone else experiencing terrible connection drops on MyWhoosh lately Been trying to use the new Pacer feature its an absolute Sh!tshow - one minute you in the group then next you way out in front, then back in the group and then way off the back and eventually dropped. Every session this week i started in MW and ended up shutting it down and going back to IndieVelo . I'm using Ant+ connections through a serious windows gaming laptop so my hardware is fine
  25. Miss Robinson ! is that you ? Remember me ? from your 1971 Std 6 English class at Edenvale High👀
