  1. Was more concerned about if they would geo block firmware updates
  2. Was always my biggest fear with all those Garmins and ASX upgrade kits i brought back - Would they work in Sefrica - But they all did and still do
  3. Been like this for years now - I always buy my stuff online when i travel to Europe and have it delivered to my hotel. On average its been 50% cheaper.
  4. When i had a wheel on trianer i used the TACX blue tyre for 4 years - worked really well and was still in good condition when i sold it with the trainer
  5. After reading this and some more research on the interwebs - I give this a miss. Def not gonna invest in something where there is no local support or spares for that matter. I did this once on a KS Lev dropper post which has been laying in my cupboard looking for an oil cartridge these last 3 years (I see now that RBC has recently been appointed as the local agent, so hoepfull i can revive it) Maybe why they have such a massive discount on this model.
  6. I'm more on about the fact its a pure XC bike and for my type of riding which is bike park trails and long gravel events like Race to the Sun. With 64mm travel in the rear its almost a hardtail with a bit of rear suspension. Current ride is a Top Fuel 9.8 so wondering how different it would feel. I'm thinking its a hard fast ride. Also - the FAZUA drive train seems very different from the standard e-motors on e-bikes. It looks a lot smaller and proabbly used to keep the weight down. Also reading some of the 1 star reviews on the bike all seem to revolve around the drive system. Please Please someone convince me NOT to buy this bike !!!
  7. The E-Caliber, is very tempting as a first e-bike at their discounted price. Wonder how it will ride after riding a Top Fuel for the last 4 or 5 years
  8. I'm lost here ! Why would anyone even think of putting suspension fork on a gravel bike ?
  9. Good question - Even scarier is bottled water - literraly millions are sold every year and i bet no one ever checks to see how safe they are. I mainly use Camelbak bottles - All these bottles handed out as freebies are cheap junk and i turf them with the goodiebag.
  10. Yep to good old days Remember when they rolled over 25% of your previous years points into the new year. My gripe with them is the changing of the goal posts every year and then trying to cover it up by offering you additional discounts and free s#$t on things you would never use. Another gripe is the miles or points system for say the wife and me - I have a CC i never use but i can use the app to spend my points - My wife does not have any banking products so her points are only usefull for free coffees. Now if they pooled all the points so they could all be used on the main members banking profile - Would be a game changer and i'd stop being grumpy
  11. I tried flights and car hire in Dec for CT, i get -30% on flights Got all cheaper by booking direct with the airline and car rental company without discounts Its a scam i tell you !
  12. For me Vitality only offers a huge positive on my life products intergrater payback. I also have an HPP that requires me to be on vitality which pays out my intergrater savings in 3 years time which is a serious amount of money. I've been on diamond since it was introduced to leverage the max intergrator payback. I took out their CC when it was first introduced so i accumulated lots of points in the old days - Now days its a waste of time - All the miles or points my wife earns are sitting on her account which she can get free coffe vouchers for - 70 000 points is a lot of coffee - They now want her to open a Disco bank account to use the points - I told them which finger they can go sit on. Interest rates on savings = P#ss poor STD bank giving me 2.0% higher than what they offered on a 3.0 mill investment Motor vehicle insurance = P#ss poor almost 20% higher than my broker. Bank charges = almost double what i'm pying at STD bank Oh and their express line at airport passport control is longer thant he normal line I'm so over their BS I'm really looking forward to tht HPP payout so i can tell them where to shove Vitality
  13. Jussie, you old hey I still got my cloth bages we used to get
  14. When i saw this pop up on their website I wondered why I ran out with my CC but the wife caught me at the top of our road I'm now gated until the sale is over 😭 https://www.trekbikes.com/za/en_ZA/bikes/mountain-bikes/electric-mountain-bikes/e-caliber/c/B356/
  15. I've bought all my AXS stuff overseas whn i been on business trip = literlally half the price especially spare batteries
  16. Yes i get what you are saying but - With the old gate you could jump onto the trail just after entering. We have never ridden to the trail head on the tar road, we jumped onto the trail 50m past the gate and jumped off at the same place to ride back to flamingo. Its not like its 1 or 2 riders - there are lots of riders who do or did it this way, most already have bands. I understand shutting the gate due to consturction as a lot of cars used it as well - but for season pass holders riding in - Not clever - They already have an alternative gate which is manned by security but only allow cars in for the Sea Scouts - Why not use this entrance ? You us old Valers think we own Modders trail park, so when they change things we get very abrasive 🤬😁
  17. Of course there always be that one guy with incinuations, luckily you ended with a ? so i'll indulge your curiosity I been riding Modders since its inception, in fact we rode there even before it became a trail park. When the Trail head was developed these last couple of years the old gate was still an alternative entrance and used by many of us who rode in from Flamingo And no we did not rogue ride for free we pay at the gate with cash / card and some or most riders have their annual pass bands that they have to show at the gate. My rant is more about the access being completly taken away. The very least they could do is keep an alternative entry even if its only for the Annual pass band holders. I hope my explanantion has satisfied your curiosity and relieved your stress on the thought that there are non paying rogue riders on the trails
  18. So once again the old gate is now closed due to construction - Really irritating for the guys riding from Falmingo Center now have to road it to the trail head to stand in a 40 min line to pay and ride. Just when things really seem to be happening Taroko decide to mess it up. Come on Taroko make a plan here - If i'm gonna have to drive to your trail head all the time then i might as well go ride at Northern Farms or go ride with the DOCS in the Souf.
  19. Was thinking the same thing - just takes that one guy to clip a cone into the group and the race officials will be standing there thinking HTF do we get that wrong ! 🤨
  20. Haha - Set up a doping check gate at CTCT after the medal collection - I wonder how many riders will be bailing over the fences 😁
  21. Would love to do this again but alas ! I would probably need a year to prepare in my current condition
  22. As a Campy die-hard i must concure witht he auther of the article - I think Campy lost their way somewhere. Back in the day Guppos were freely availble both new and used - even with the useless local importer - I have rebuilt many Ergo levers and could always get spares, now one has to scrounge locally and they are getting harder to source overseas as well. Anyone with an older Gruppo needs to look after it - If it fails it will be wall art. Never thought i'd see the day that NAGO would standardize on Shitmano - what sacrilege is this I read. Thankfully i dont build road bikes anymore and all mine that i hardly ride are full Campy equiped so they should last longer than me. If i did build a new road bike i think i would move over to SRAM now. Because "I'd walk before i ride Shitmano"
  23. Ye i had the problem on Iphone I deleted the app and rebooted the Iphone Factory rest the Fitbit as well Reloaded the app and it worked - Been working ever since
