welcome. Firstly R10 000 is a nice budget for a beginner and i am sure you will pick up a decent 2nd within that price range. But dont forget, as a newby, you also need accessories which will add up very quickly. So look at keeping a minimum of R2000 aside for things such as helmets, gloves, odemeter, lights, bottle cages/ camelpak, pump, repair kit etc.
