  1. When did the first bike race in history start? When the second bike arrived. Make no mistake. Your time will be measured and judged by all...............????
  2. That is going to be a bastard with regards to the launch of the new Di2. I see the new Di2 12speed is being ridden by one or two guys from DSM at the moment. Not that cycling related stuff ever gets mentioned in the Bikehub unless the importers pay the admins to throw a marketing thread. hahahhaha
  3. I actually did buy one or two. ???? Purely because at that stage (11 years ago) phone cameras were not such a big thing with quality photos and I did not even knew that they covered this specific event.......so it was quite fun to reminisce...good times.....
  4. mmmmmmmm Tshwane had 1732+ finishers across the 3 distances..... Not "small" by any means. I was actually surprised to see so many people there. Was awesome to see. Overpriced...........very very much agree.
  5. I also have one of these. Folds nice and small away when you get warm
  6. On the Tshwane Classic there were no "official" photographers present. Cycle Nation is always at the races and take very cool pics along the day. You'll be able to find them on Facebook.
  7. You get nice 3D prints to fit your Garmin varia light to these wholes also.
  8. The route shown in link was (for me) 100% okay. I did not feel unsafe at any point. I think if you head out North on the Hayzyview road towards Bushbuck ridge, it might get a bit dodge. We did this ride back in September last year. The circled bit was where you went through the informal settlement. At no stage did we feel unsafe but I won't ride alone there at night. https://www.strava.com/activities/4051851641
  9. https://www.strava.com/activities/4047935752 Did this loop a couple of times now. Good shoulder for most of the time. If you want to climb a bit more you can continue out to Lydenburg a little further and get Long Tom pass in also
  10. 2 weeks turnaround for UK is also not that bad. I am impressed. CSS usually takes 2 weeks to answer a mail...... MaxxD......that is some serious lumens. ????
  11. For the rear......Garmin Varia.
  12. Been cycling in the dark for close to 15 years now. Garmin. Lezyne. Bontrager. There really is just ONE light out there that is worth the money for me: https://www.exposurelights.co.za/ Lasts for 10+ years Decent run time.........3 hours at max and 12 hours at low......and by low I mean you can still do singletrack flat out on a night ride No external battery pack The local dude sits in Nelspruit and I received decent service from him. Got my second light there. First one was bought in the UK.
  13. I would love to plot this thing in Veloviewer...........can't seem to get it right: https://www.strava.com/segments/3866479 40% gradient.............
  14. I think it is Zipp that makes a little steel spanner
  15. Sounds absolutely amazing! It's a date. ????
  16. Sad really...............the masses can hoer and remoer but we can't race. Saw a couple of videos again of the clubs.............scary stuff. Guess racing in general will be off the cards again for months to come...........hearing rumours of Level2 lockdown to control the minions and help the police work even less. Whatever. That said...........the Cradle in the middle of winter racing...........not a very bright idea in my opinion......thus the September date will attract more participants I think.
  17. Think the race is governed by UCI rules. That said, it is WAY too difficult to enforce........the Ooms and Tannies would rather face off head-on traffic in order to should at the VA rider to get out of the VB bunch. Stouter............
  18. Still crazy high compared to us mortals. I wonder how long us mere mortals will be able to suck wheel in the bunch before getting dropped.......
  19. 420w FTP for MvdP gives him 5.6w/kg 420w FTP for Eagan gives him 7w/kg
  20. But what does he weigh? i.e Watt/kg traveling speed w/kg? Normally WT riders are around 60-70kg on avg. Van der Poel sits at 75kg according to the webs............Bernal at 60kg So the 360w can be stupid crazy or way too little.
  21. Well..............cheaper than lightweight Meilenstein Evo and 125g lighter than the Lightweight weelset. Expensive......hell yes.
  22. Was thinking the other day.............it all is a bit of a shitshow really. Our current Elite MTB XCM champ is a caught doper and banned for life at the epic but 6 years later she kicks everyone's ass at Nationals. How can one trust any result these days? Edit: Marathon champ
  23. Something I learned this week........11 is Red. 12 is AXS. Both disc brake
  24. Same events company so guessing they are going the "tried and tested" route. I think it is a very nice route.
