  1. FAAAAARK STAKES! Hectic!
  2. Okay. Good luck. Hope you find it (and not scratched and bashed up)
  3. Mind if I ask? Does this mean you tracked your bike down?
  4. I think we just have to get a feel for what times everyone wants to be chasing. We all have the same ballpark time in mind probably. I also like to warm up initially. Don't do to well on cold legs. Fast flats is my nemesis. I dont know the course so have no idea where that Diepsloot climb is (or any others to watch anyway) so whatever happens, happens for me.
  5. Damn!

I still need to enter before the seeding process starts? When do they finalise seeding? After the 94.7???
  8. Dont they just ship the wheels for free? I think you get free shipping for a good wheelset but can pay $6 for priority shipping, so just buy a few extra bits and bobs.
  9. As others have said, 0245 is just a peg in the ground. Gives an indication of how hard we want to set off (if nothing else). I don’t really look at the time splits at certain points. Its more about getting into a group which ultimately dictates where I will be at set markers anyway. That is the BIG difference between cycling and road running. When you are at best capable of say 2:50 a good group can easily drag you to a 02:30 The idea is just have an agreement in place and set off working together. I agree if you just holding on for dear life over the first 50kms you can pay a high price over the second half but it can also work the other way. So it’s up to everyone to decide if they want to give up a group after 20kms and wait for the next wheel instead. I’d 02:45 as well. All it means is that we want to get in the front and mix things up with the rest up there.
  10. I still want to know what time we're chasing in "Gee"
  11. I'm another step closer....
  12. Haha! Confidence sits well on you I see. Still you're gonna have to be patient and wait for the rest of us to finish our frantic training up until the last moment.
  13. Sorry to hear this. Surely that bike can't disappear. CPT aint that big.
  14. Five weeks is a bit of a long wait. You're the only one who don't need the time to train frantically to get the milage up.
  15. What is his age CAT?
  16. What sort of time are we aiming for in G? Sub 2:45? Quickest guy from G got there last year.
  17. Eish! That's bad! Sorry to hear!
  18. Errm. Not sure what I was doing but I think I added my name. Does it save the changes somewhere in cyberspace?
  19. Well let's see. Can we compile a list of G Groupers (add your name). I'm super excited now!
  20. G group. From M last year. Now I'm seriously excited but don't have a green light from the boss yet!
  21. Hahaha! well put!
  22. Now I agree. Seems to require fairly ordinary numbers (no disrespect). Looking at the numbers alone makes it appear really easy. Something we know is not the case. Thanks for sharing
  23. Saw that test in the other thread but the resolution on the image is too small to read it. These numbers sounds so ordinary. Easy to put one under all sorts of illusions as to the difficulty of going under 3 hours. But I think we’re talking different numbers actually. 4.3 w/kg (when quoted to me by a veteran of the sport, and now coach/trainer) was where OBLA needed to be for a sub-3. My OBLA was at 2.7 W/kg about 11 months ago. I’ve increased my PO and lost weight since but only have the 20 minute FTP test to go by right now. Do these differ? And how?
  24. WHAAAT No way! Every man and his dog would be able to do a Sub-3
  25. Anyone know what sort of FTP or power/weight ratio (better probably) you have to push for a Sub-3??? Heard 4.3 w/kg somewhere. That sound about right?
