  1. I rode there every day a few weeks ago. No issues. But instead of HP I went on Wilgerood. It runs parallel to HP but is a smaller road. Lower speed limit. Quieter traffic wise but not too quiet to feel scary. I started at Christiaan de Wet and went down Wilgerood all the way till it becomes Robert Broom and turned onto the R28 towards Krugersdorp (dont go all the way down to Dan Pienaarville, thats dodgy) then made a u-turn before getting into town and went in the opposite direction on the R28 to Silverstar casino. Couple of good climbs. Back to Christiaan de Wet gave me just under 1000m of climbing over 50kms.
  2. Thanks for that. How about Muizenburg through Boyes drive, Kalk Bay in the direction on Simonstown? Safe enough for a lone ranger?
  3. Is the above still the case? Riding alone during the week say after 8am'ish. Specifically crime wise???
  4. Geez. Glad you're okay buddy. I'm in CPT for a few weeks from tomorrow and was eyeing that route. There goes

Are we all done moaning about our seeding? So we can move along to the weather/wind predictions and discussions.

Hey there. If you want to get in touch closer to raceday I should be in Cape Town about that time and don't have work commitments so happy to join you for a ride (can't show you around cause I don't know the city but we can get lost together). Also, I think there is a bunch of guys from Bryne Sykleklub (out Stavanger way) who's making the trip
  8. I think for most the best would be striking a balance between pushing that heavy gear and spinning. SPinning wont get u nowhere and neither would the big gear (especially if you got small thighs)
  9. Hahaha. You PE okes should know, riding into the wind should be your speciality so tell us.... I've heard guys talking about "the pocket" when riding into the wind. What is that???
  10. I used tubbies on my race and training bikes abroad and never ever punctured. Spent 2 weeks in Joburg last month and punctured 3 times. Once was 40 kms from home and everyone I called didn't bother answering their phones that morning. Lucky for me "Johan" a lifesaver in a Scott Bicycles rep vehicle came by and got me home. That was the one day the tubbie deflated so quick I couldn't ride it anymore. Had a spare tubbie but used my last bomb that morning. With the price of tubbies and the hassle of fixing punctures I went out and got a set a clinchers for training.
  11. What's the story with this new BB size for the Oltre XR2?
  12. Thanks. And Weekends????
  13. Where do people in PE do group rides? Venue? Time?
  14. Well done. Saw you running to the start shoot (Fromm the porta-loo???) and thought, hope I get a chance to chat later but never did. See you hopefully in CPT for the August race
  15. What a belter. Sjoe. I nearly didn't get out of bed this morning with that gale force waking me up in the middle of night. PE never disappoints.
  16. Sorry to hear. Good luck to all tomorrow
  17. That's the $ Bunch. Elites/u23..... I also have C1 but think I will drop down to AL.
  18. How lekke is that Aussie crowd on those climbs hey?
  19. It's strange though because the other wheel is now low on pressure. Someone once told me it's not that you never puncture on tubbies but if you do it takes the ttyre a long time to deflate. When he gets home he just puts more air into it and it's fine.
  20. Hi Clint, Yes I stuck a nail (maybe not that wise) down and it went all the way down. It seems I got enough sealant down the valve because it's now fixed it seems. Reinflated the tyre went for a ride and it was all good. Thanks for the help!
  21. Yes, it did
  22. I did that. But when I stick the spout of the sealer tube down the valve extender, the fluid doesn't want to go down. It seems to be sucking something that looks like moist paper clots out of the valve. Any ideas?
  23. Any advice on how to get this tubular puncture sealant fluid down the valve? It seems there is some blockage down the valve cause all the fluid keeps overflowing from the valve. Even though I put the little cap thingy to be used to pour the fluid through in the valve??? Help please.
  24. The cheaper the better. I need only a rear wheel actually, to go with a Shimano 6800 front wheel as the rear for that now have a IDT specific tyre on.
