I also went and had a look at some of the groups further down and there are lots of people who came within 5 minutes or so of that sub-3. Quite impressed.
  4. Ah. Sorry, I missed that.
  5. How do you guys conclude that? He is 7cm taller and wants to get the same size???
  6. I'm 1.78 and have a 55 and a 57 (55 I'm scraping the barrel)

I think the big question should be: At what fitness level do you need to be at the start of Week 1 (and still go through Week 1-10 above) to stand a chance of a sub-3. No point of talking sub-3 if you haven't been on a bike for years and then rock up at Week 1 chasing your dream of a sub-3. Cause that's what it will be.... a dream

  9. I think the only time you need a 27 is when the grade goes steeper than say 7-8%. How often would that be? With the relatively flat races in SA, you won't need it. And then in training, you forced to push the 25. More strength gained.
  10. It says on the website when they test road the course, they did it on compacts with 12-28's. Recommend triple blades for joy riders and elite riders "might" be okay on standard cranks. Met "eish" ja!!!
  11. Some seriaaaas bucket list shiiite: Where does the mHealth Grand Tour go? The 2,100km route from Brussels travels through Belgium, Luxemburg, Germany, France and Northern Spain on to Barcelona. Heading east from Brussels, the ride goes into the Ardennes before crossing Luxemburg and meeting the Rhine near Saarbrucken. We then head south to the Black Forest and on into France crossing the Jura mountains and on into the Alps. After the rest day the Tour heads west across Languedoc, through the Pyrenees and into Catalonia, to head down to Barcelona. http://www.mhealthtour.com/the-route
  12. Where do I buy my 2014 kit? I have Assos shorts that lasted me about 5 years but I'd still rather buy a new set of Castelli each year for the fit and feel. Best kit ever!

Please advise when you're all done squabbling over the 35000 entry spots so I can do my entry in peace. Thank you!
  15. When does entries close? Not the "extended deadline" as I'd still like to get a seeding?
  16. Hope to do my third and go sub-3. As always clashing with the boss' birthday but the other night she asked: "Are you going to Joburg for the 94.7?" not sure if she was "testing the waters" for something but I was so surprised I can't remember what I replied. Hehe!
  17. I loved that chirp by the commentator' when a section of the crowd filled with SA supporters flashed onto the screens. Centred, a really fat dude waving an SA flag vigorously..... Commentator reckons: ".....much relieve amongst the "sizable" South Africa supporters....."
  18. What is the connection between this team and the "argyle" pattern? There's nothing Scottish there is it?

When does entries open? G Might leave it till last minute this time.
  20. I've been using the powerCal for a few months and it is NOT a power metre. It basically derives PO from your HR and is only usefull in tracking your improvement in power. So it's a reactive source of info. It's not a proactive tool. Having said that, my coach recommended it and it helps him track my performance with TSS and things like that. It does not compete/compare with a real time power metre but is very usefull for those not quite sure whether to invest in a power metre.
