A very low key: "Alive and well in Hawaii" status update from LA this morning. The first word really if I'm not mistaken so had some time to go through it while on the train. Some abuse in the comments pages but mostly those who choose to still believe/or just don't care about the cheating. I was wondering how he was going to play it but no real surprise there won't be anymore denials. I reckon that update is kind-off to test the waters as he can't really stay in hiding forever. The longer he said nothing the more isolated he was going to feel.

The fastest guy in "M" last year did a 2:56 so don't think it's batch winning time. Also 3:16 is the estimated batch time but only 16 people from "M" went under 3:16 last year so it can't really be average. Does anyone know for sure what that time represent?

Is that average/expected times for the groups? Wonder how they work that one out. last year there was only 16 people from the "M" group who went under 3:16

I went riding hills this morning. First time this year and it felt like I was going to die. 900 odd meters ascending took me 2:45'ish. 60kms or so. I'm hoping the race intensity and draughting will get me over the line in 3:15. Am I on track?

I recorded 946 last year but previous comments suggest its north of 1000. very confusing but that 726 does seem light.

Are there any good routes to ride in this area? Gonna be around Ontdekkers Rd (I know its lengthy) but dont mind loading the bike into the car to get to some decent/quieter roads. Any group rides/others one can join in the mornings?

Not defending the workmanship, but with that amount of water, the soil will be shifting when saturated and the ground can collapse. In which case it doesn’t matter how good your foundations/base layers are, if there’s no ground for it to sit on it will collapse. It doesn’t matter what you do to plan, design construct; it’s very difficult when mother nature gets this angry.

How often did you get that close to the 2:47? Was there something special about the group that day? Sometimes it all depends on the group you find yourself in.
