  1. That bronze is now mine thank you very much. Slipping out of my grasp ever so quickly. Savour the moment while it lasts.
  2. What I find is that us cyclist are quick to complain, but sometimes when we get into our cars we are just as reckless. Picture this: Cyclist is in the yellow lane on the far right (we drive on the right). Driver 2 cars ahead of me moves to the left giving them space, car going somewhat slow. Car in front of me takes the gap between car and cyclist. Said car in front of me has a cycle in the back. Another occasion I'm in my car with the bike on the carrier on my way to training. I'm in my lane that's coming to a close up ahead, put my indicator on to filter into lane beside me moving at a decent enough speed. Big 4x4 coming up behind, moving much faster than me driving rather aggressively. With my bike on the back, not wanting to collide with him, I move back out his way to let him go. His got a bike in the back also going training. My point is, some of us (not all) when we get into our cars we forget that it is a weapon.
  3. Lots of base miles and lost 2 kgs. Expected a bit more though. Target weight 68 from 74!
  4. .Few bits and pieces of info that sends warning bells to me. “peak traffic”, “tailwind”, “downhill” “+/- 50kph” (this bit is pure speculation) I can’t believe anyone will do 50kph on a busy, open road approaching an intersection (at that speed even if you have right of way) with the presence of other road users and the associated risks. We probably have it all wrong! Time will tell when the facts appear in the court case.
  5. That's only a bronze medal. Come on, try harder!
  6. Here we go again then! Thanks Dizzy
  7. STILL ON VACATION??????? HOW DARE YOU....... Just kidding. Enjoy your holidays, and thanks for getting us going!
  8. That there, is something we should all practice. When a driver gets that, it just increases the chance of them giving you adequate space when they overtake you. It makes them feel good, doesn't matter in how much of a hurry they were, I find they're more relaxed as opposed to getting more frustrated with "having to wait for this cyclist"
  9. Don't start that Shiiiiiiite. It's way to early
  10. Yes please. Can we go already?
  11. Shocking! RIP Burry.
  12. No. From the cycletour.co.za website. Redistributed without consent Hope they won't read me the riot copyright act!
  13. I hope to be there!
  14. With my bike set-up few weeks ago i was told my frame is "almost too small" and had therefore had to go with a longer stem (130). I find that I ride with locked elbows most of the time and have to "bend" forward to angle the elbows. With the set-up we also raised my saddle by 3cm or so it feels like my hands are to low when they on the drops. been looking at upsizing the frame now. I was borderline between med/large on the frame charts.
  15. SAA is the only one I would use. Besides, low cost airlines will charge you for everything "extra"
  16. Damn! Can just imagine. Everyone in good spirits having a jol and saying all sorts of things. Making fun very innocently. And then all those things just seem so wrong when the context broadens. Not that it's anyone's fault but poor guy!
  17. I know what you mean. Had a similar experience when down for the 94.7 recently. Granted I was in casuals/plakkies and just collected the bike from the shop and I was “hurrying” to get home. Got the “is the, is that your Bianchi". It was only when deactivating the alarm/popping open the boot that I got the feeling the guy started doubting his thoughts. I only really considered what the whole episode was about a day later though. I felt offended too. So to me this post is not about spreading racist drivel although I understand it will come across as stirring. Let’s just leave it at that! Peace out home fries.
  18. Nice choice of words from Tyler. ".... I think it will cut him up that he is no longer a hero....." That's stirring **** isn't it? Can just imagine ol' Tex fuming.
  19. Hoekom lyk hulle so kwaad???
  20. As opposed to a PASSION. At what point do you know you're crossing a/the line? And what are the tell tale signs? Essentially a passion is not "a bad thing", so if being obsessed with it is "bad", how do we know the difference? How fine is the line between the two? If an obsession is the "domination of one's thoughts" by cycling/or whatever and a passion "a boundless enthusiasm", where exactly is the difference?
  21. Got my Infinito frame from them at a cracking price. Jason' words to me when I took it was: "Now let's do this quickly, before I change my mind because I'm basically paying you 4 grand to take this thing out the shop." Just my luck I guess but I'm now doing all my shopping like that. That frame I will be building up end off next year will probably be purchased during the winter preceding it, or at whichever point the price have dropped sufficiently. Never again buying any cycling kit the very moment I need it.
  22. Sorry to hear. Did they reverse a truck in there? It still comes across as a organized heist? Can't believe it!
