  1. I believe if you are allocated 1 race number for the year, you will have more cyclist partaking. I live 200km from Jozi, i do get to race but would race more if i did not have to make a weekend of racing, could just drive up on the morning of the race. I like spidey's edited version but as he said, they have pleaded their case to Barry and Hendrik and yet their view points were not heard. So are we not just banging our heads agains a wall here?
  2. Pundit is 40 + (40-49) or 40 + is whether you are 40 or 55 you are a 40+ vet? There are quite a few 50 + vets that are more than capable of racing in the 40+ cat
  3. Spidey there is no mention of Vets 30 + in Category 2 but on the previous page it has us (vets 30+ ) in Categort 1 and/or Category 2?
  4. I have mailed CSA to get some clarity on the matter and was told that Ciska Austin would be able to help. I am awaiting her mail
  5. :D Actually if i am not mistaken they are all except for Fullard 40+ next year. I know Jaque Maritz is 40 + and i think Jaque-louise to. Should be fun to watch Black Rock and mighty mouse chase each other aroud
  6. Well they might as well just give Black Rock the prize money at the start of the season
  7. Cat 2 is going to be huge and how can they expect a junior woman and a 40 + plus woman to be expected to race with the likes of Graeme Cronje, Andrew McLean anc co?
  8. Well i would have to disagree with you here. A mate of mine had a stiff link in his super record chain, we tried to sort it out but to no avail. We had spare chains and with the use of a 10 year old chain breaker we joined the new chain on and continued to ride without problems. Not saying it is the correct way but it worked for us.
  9. I have only ever ridden Bianchi and Campag. So obviously am partial to both. I have also never had a problem with any of the spare parts on Campag, sure the 10 speed chains in the past were pricey but even that has changed. You can buy any part of the Ergo leavers, if need be. I have Campag Daytona on my Bianchi that i leave at my holiday house, it is 11 years old and all i have changed is the springs on the shifters. Bianchi and Camag all the way
  10. Should be fun for a Vet 38 years old with a wife, 2 kids and a business to run to have to compete with a 23 year old, full time pro......
  11. Thanks, will get it sorted asap.
  12. Hi Mallo, I use 2 asthma pumps daily, have been for the past 30 years, how do i go about getting excemption and notifying the correct authorities?
  13. 101% is one of the strongest vets around and he was not dropped because he was not strong enough but because he got a flat....if i was strong enough to win SA's i would want to have beaten the best and would not have a problem with him getting a little help from the car.
  14. Michelle what did you think of the organisation, route, racing, etc of SA's this year?
  15. Why was he tested, did he get a top 3 in one of his events? I also find it hard to believe and somehow i think it just another crappy rumour......
  16. I think it was harder for Brandt as he had no one ahead of him, just a clear road....Christie was chasing down Jaco all the way and having a carrot dangled, you do tend to dig a bit deeper when you see you are catching someone, you could see on his face he was diggin deep, well done to Christie....TCS guys were all flying but not as fast as that mini cooper racing up and down
  17. Send Sias a PM, he lives in Potch and does plenty of mnt bike rides. He is also a strong rider, if that is what you are looking for?
  18. It used to be sold in the shops as IronMan 8 hour but has changed it's label since. Having fair skin and skin related cancer in the family i have tried most but nothing comes close to this. I spend most weekends on the golf course and water skiing and never get burnt, it is also not greasy. http://www.solrx.com/about_us
  19. Nope!! Anyone could license as a vet and when racing in the bigger races, regardless of your ability you were seeded in the vets cat. The only time that has not happened is in the Argus and 94.7 where they have minimum seeding requirement of 9 or 10 (i think?) The way i understand it from what i have read on the hub is that Andrew McLean will now be racing against Jaco Feirera, am i correct?
  20. Would this system not favour those living in Jhb where most of the racing takes place? So i live a couple hours from Jhb but am able to race in local races that has some decent talent and racing, there is no timing and the field is normally 150 strong at best. So i improve my racing ability but because there was no timing i am forced to race the bigger events in what cat then? Let say i am good enough to race with most the current vets, i won't be afforded that opportunity now?
  21. the mouse man is a machine, period!! Bruce is also dam impressive and together make a deadly team!! good luck to those racing against them, gonna need it!!
  22. Are those pics a before and after shot of the pub?
