  1. I suppose it would help that you have "inside" information So do we have Lise at 3rd or a step or two up??
  2. Ok...my pick is 1. Moolman 2. Cherise 3. Conradie
  3. My pick for the elite TT today 1. Hunter - my feeling is he would not be competing if he did not feel he could take this 2. Caveman - missed out on 2nd place by a couple of seconds last year 3. Thomson 4. Lill 5. Rabie
  4. They have all the local breweries show casing their beers, there are some crazy names they give the beers......i tried a beer called Flat Dog Very chilled and relaxed atmosphere, if you are not a beer drinker there is some wines (not great) you can help yourself to. The golf course is also very nice, so take your clubs along with the bike......but don't forget to book the wife in at the local health spa
  5. I agree with Paulst12......the chances of BL catching VB are very slim. They might pick up the riders from VB that got shelved but not the main bunch. I race in VA and we often catch the juniors when they start 5 min ahead of us. There have been times when there was chaos but last Sunday at R4S we passed them with no problems. I personally don't have a problem if we pick up riders that got dropped, they can hang on if they like but as long as they go sit at the back and NOT interfere with the race.
  6. Pity, i have a friend that has the S3 got his replacement frame a month or two back and is looking at selling it but it is a 58cm
  7. Emotion Cycles, they also do Eddy Mercx frames. What size frame do you ride?
  8. they have given Donovan and John's contact details and if you are wanting to contact Mike Bevan, his hub name is Obree.
  9. Quality is definately the way to go and seems that is the way most coaches are going.
  10. I like it that you are able to chat to your coach....but sometimes being able to communicate more often than not with a coach comes at a premium price. If you don't mind me asking, what does John charge you monthly? I used Mike Bevan and to this day i can still pick up the phone and chat to him about training, even though i am not making use of his expertise.
  11. I am not sure if Mike Bevan still does coaching, he was pretty good. Just becareful of those "on-line" type programs where every client gets the same program. Look695, when you say you are "happy" with Donovan, have you showed decent gains or has he helped give you a better understanding of power training? Does anyone know if Bruce Diesel still does coaching?
  12. I have 2 kids (2 & 4) and two businesses to run. I purchased my powermeter when i had time restraints and have never looked back. I train about 6 - 8 (max)hours a week and can race in the vets bunch with this amount of training. My sessions are also only an hour long and the only ride that is longer is the Sunday ride with my mates.
  13. I have a very fair skin, also had a cancer scare. I also tried many different brands as my sports of choice are cycling, golf and water skiing. So i spend plenty of time in sun. I actually stumbled upon Ironman 8 hour on The Hub a couple of years back, i think Bruce Diesel mentioned the name. It really is as good as it says and i have converted at least 10 of my friends and my kids 2 & 4 do not leave the house each day without it on their arms and face. They have changed the name to Solrx, not the cheapest but i highly recommend you give it a try. www.solrx.com
  14. Well judging on the TT start list, all the big names are making this trip. I am told they are grouping 30-49 together for road race. Could make race tactics tricky....Julius Cobbet 30-34 could get into move with Cronje or Mclean 45-49, the chase group could give some guys a free ride and others that were hoping to sit in might find themselves now having to chase:-) Also no back up vehicles allowed, only a neutral service vehicle
  15. My dealer tells me they do not have stock
  16. Thanks. Do you perhaps know how much they go for or can you give me the name of importers of local bike shop that stocks them?
  17. I am in the market for a carbon 29er frame and came across the Accelerator Concepts, does anyone know anything about this frame and at R14 000 for the frame, are there any other recommendations?
  18. Well i will add that the Cervelo most certainly will not fall into this category. A friend of mine has cracked 4 in the past 14 months. And all 4 cracked in a different place.
  19. i was thinking the same thing but it would also be of no use to ask J&J as they obviously would say it is not possbile, gotta buy a new groupset.....
  20. Does anyone know if it possible to convert my current 10speed shifters to 11speed?
  21. 430w and he is quite a big guy, so he is probably hoping to ave just over 5w/kg for the TT.....pretty impresive and must be making his opo very nervous at this point
  22. So then he is racing Elite in the TT and not in the vets cat? Would have been nice to see him and Rynard Tissink racing each other in the TT. Anyone know if Rynard is partaking in SA champs?
  23. Thanks, i will give them a shout now. I am not to concerned about the powerlink, i purchased the chain but the bike shop did not have the 11 speed tool and the previous 2 that were fitted with the incorrect tool have resulted in a stiff link . The 1st chain was fitted with the correct tool and never gave a days trouble. So now i have 2 almost new chain and the 3rd is brand new....
  24. I have phoned a number of bike shops in joburg north and have yet to find someone that has the 11 speed campag chain tool. I need to have a chain fitted urgently. Does anyone know of a bike shop in Joburg that has the correct tool for this application?
  25. Does anyone know which company was taking pics at the Jacaranda Satelite challenge?
