that was quite rude of the salesmen to give you the hub back and tell you to go elsewhere !! Obviously they making too much money to want your business !! Best you go elsewhere for good honest salesmen !

So Wednesday was the Top Gear Festival Media Launch at the spectactular Dezzi Raceway in Port Shepstone. I was there as a service provider to supply technical for the speeches and play background music for the event. Lots of local celebrities and media were either flown in or driven up to the venue in Supercars to name a Ferrari 458, 308 GTO and numerous Porsches from the Porsche club. This was done in typical Top Gear style. Celebrities and media were wined and dined and treated to Stig Rides in various Mercedes Benz cars from SL 63 to C63 and Drifting rides in Dezzo Skyline drifting cars. As the day started to wind down it was almost to time to pack and leave and was chatting to my ex colleagues at BE Festivals when I was offered a Stig Ride. We got prepped and waited like two schoolboys about to go for their first car ride ever. The Mercedes Benz C63 was next in line and we got in and awaited for the Stig to come back from his previous ride. He got we greeted him and he didnt get back. ( Not supposed to talk to us ) The ride was totally insane he had that C63 going more sideways than straight. I had this constant smile on my face the entire 3min ride. Words cannot comprehend the emotions and joy that i had experienced on the ride. It was surreal and something i will never forget. The Stig is a damn good driver !!!

Also been looking for a new pair my Spez pair of gloves are coming apart at the seems. Been keen on the those Dirt paws Fox in black...... going to get them very soon !!

Hi there So after years of debating i finally decided on getting a Garmin an not wanting to splash out too many Mandelas; i opted to settle for an older second hand unit in great nick. Managed to score a cadence sensor in the deal excluding the magnets. Made numerous calls including Garmin to source replacements cadence magnets but alas no one had any in stock and some cycle shops werent event keen to offer assistance as they didnt stock the Garmin range The HRM wasnt working , contacted seller and advised its probably the battery that needed to be replaced as he hadnt used the item in a while. He suggested i go to Sportmans Warehouse for the battery and pairing the unit with the HRM. Didnt get much help there Salesmen didnt even ask if i had done the pairing correctly or if the battery needed to be replaced suggested i book the item in and they facilitate couriering it off to Garmin. Really ??? So i walk over to Leighs cycles and ask the salesmen for a replacement battery for the HRM and if he has cadence magnets. At this point in time, the shop manager or owner was overhearing our conversation and my request looking for cadence magnets. To my luck at that point in time he was opening a New Garmin Edge unit which included the Cadence Sensor and parts. He promptly handed over cadence sensor magnets to the Salesmen and asked him to ring this up with my bill. I promptly thanked the manager and explained how i had been searching for this item for the last two days. Well done to Leighs Cycles I shall be going there in future for my biking requirements close to work but not the only bike shop in the area.

A real sad state of affairs, the seriousness of crimes against us cyclists seems to be escalating with little or no input from the relevant Authorities. Hot Spots are being identified; however little or nothing gets done in these areas !! Tragic that the love of the sport is being undermined by criminals in this country namely those carrying out these crimes and the politicians / officials who turn a blind eye at these trangressions.

Just saw that Dumela posted an ad on the Hub so effectively on the Hub. Specialized Stumpjumpee (XL) Lets see if he responds to the Thread and attempts to resolve this issue either publicly or with a PM to Karma.

Very true ...lost one customer that day and many others here on the Hub and more to follow... with an attitude like that his business will regret it !

Last year came across a 3m green mamba in the sugar cane trails ..... nearly k8ked myself ..... we both went our seperate ways i still shudder when i go pass that area on my weekly ride. Hate snakes but go to respect otherwise you looking for big trouble !! with summer fast approaching there will definitely be a lot more of them on the trails. be careful out there guys and girls !

Come decency and concern goes a long way ..... one never knows when u will need assistance from your fellow rider. Bunch of chops for not helping and at least asking if you require any assistance.
