  1. Had a great day out, apart from the box that stopped dead right in front of causing me to crash and ruin my shoe and scrape my shifter 😡, fortunately I could continue with a few grazes and bruises. Our plan was for a 12 man finish which we achieved within our target time as well, also reckon we could have shaved off about 20 minutes
  2. Ah, we spent quite a bit of time rolling with you guys. I see one of our members in the corner of your pic!
  3. Bontrager have a small light which I have on the front - ion paired with Varia on the back.
  4. Spot on! I have gone to further lengths via LinkedIn! it’s a joke really , too many people just roll over and accept subpar products or service.
  5. Need to set the bar higher There were no full road closures ( aware this wasn’t the plan BUT we almost got taken out by a bakkie that recklessly pulled into the road in front of us Cars also flying past us on some stretches, hardly a Marshall in sight A road event with a dirt road as access to parking? And the condition of the road ? Great staff at the water points but often the drinks were standing in the sun But we say yes please and thank you and pay the entry fee , need to take a page out of some MTB events and see how events should be run.
  6. Yes, the parking was a stuff up, as was the road to parking as well, if you can call that a road. Was also late and was just told to go through when we got to the start.
  7. Attention to detail also lacking the paper instructions speak of 2 x cable ties for the 2 holes on the bracket, however they only have 1 cable tie and there’s also 1 hole on the board. Yes, it’s a small thing but speaks volumes - amateur hour
  8. Wheels don’t allow for that
  9. very likely they will try to repair. When I got my bike back with a similar scenario, the frame was repaired. The shifters were badly damaged and they tried to pass it off as general wear and tear which I rejected out of hand - end of story - new groupset, saddle, seatpost and repaired frame.
  10. Hi guys Silly question, I have installed 28mm tyres and was wondering if anyone has had any issues running narrower I.E. 23/25mm tubes in their 28mm tyres? Still have a few left so would ideally like to use them up if i can do so safely. Have One Tonner this weekend and not keen on taking unnecessary risks.
  11. I reckon a conversion is not a no-no - perhaps biased though as I have one and I am happy with it.
  12. how long is a piece of string? Very subjective and you will get a million opinions from people that have had varying experiences at the same shop. You also don't state location? SA is big? best shop for sales / pricing? Best for suspension service or general service Best clothing range etc, the list can go on...
  13. Willing buyer, the market will oblige, people want nice stuff
  14. Not great to hear, wasn’t the case last year. But I guess people also behaved so there wasn’t much chaos, this was in B group if I recall.
  15. I have a Mavic R Sys rear wheel that has a very short spin if you know what I mean? when I spin it up I can also hear a soft sound that sounds like it catching on something, what is this a telltale sign of? Bearing replacement required perhaps? The bearings were replaced about a year ago and I generally don’t do much riding in the rain.
  16. That’s great from 4iiii it must be said
  17. Mine not part of the recall batches, but just take a look at how inconsistent the joins are.
  18. Good luck to the OP, she also knows the friends of the seller as well, this could get even more interesting!
  19. did not know that they have a product, good to know.
  20. Anyone would be miffed if after 2 years and out of warranty their premium trainer gives up the ghost and is unrepairable, if the belt and bearings can be sorted though, I guess that does provide some comfort.
  21. Still seeing ultegra cranks with potentially impacted model numbers up for sale..:
  22. should perhaps add some dates as well,
  23. All good and well, i know people with cranks that broke and they had to buy new. Fortunately they still have the broken unit, and I’d expect they will be given a replacement. Does not help if your crankset shows signs of imminent failure and they don’t have stock to replace as mentioned on another thread
