That is a great question, the issue is people are chasing the next shiny piece of bling, if your steed is well specced and serves the purpose and gives you enjoyment, hold onto it. Some people just need to have the latest of everything, be it phones, bikes , cars etc.

A decent fan sorts out the excessive sweating ( at least in my experience ) , so I don’t think the sweat story is “a thing” especially if the area is well ventilated as well. Keeping cool is probably one of the most important factors as it will impact your HR ( will be elevated too keep you cool) as well as your RPE ( rate of perceived exertion)

Check out the the U Locks various brands out there, I have the Kryptonite which is paired with a long cable that can be snaked through the bike as well, I very seldom leave my bike out of sight though and of late, I even lock the bike down with the Thule clamps when driving around with bike on the rack.

Did you not have a massive disbursement charge? I will look at DHL in future , been using UPS with Trade Inn and the service leaves a bit to be desired along with all the added costs. Gets here in a decent time frame though.
