  1. To turn better move some weight back to the front wheel in the turn, the front will have more grip then and turn better. If a rock pops up in the turn normal procedure is to try and lift the front wheel.
  2. Start with the Bottelary Hills mtb trails to Stelbos, then the new Helderberg trails, or take the flatter route along the railway line to S/West.
  3. 29er dually
  4. ZTR Race Gold wheels - are these not R10k+ per set? Where can you get these at what price?
  5. SDG Formula FX or for more padding SDG Formula MT. Go for the I-Beam format. Everybody I know who has tried SDG says they like it and is comfortable.
  6. Kenda Excavator in place of the Nevegal, rolls way faster with the same grip. Not sure about the front maybe an Excavator 2.35 front and 2.1 rear will have mega grip and will roll way faster than anything with AM levels of grip.
  7. I apologize for having a sense of humor, it seems you described yourself, go have an egg.
  8. Elke keer wanneer jy jou been lig oor daai ding maak God `n klein katjie dood.
  9. That is butt ugly
  10. Contact Helderberg Cycles 021 850-0082, I think they might know about the rides that the Wannabee club does. If mtb you could join me, I dont do road cause the tar is for trucks and cars not bicycles.
  11. I make up my own deathmetal song in my head while going downhill, the bumps are the drums.
  12. I ride the 29er Anthem and as much as I want/like the Scale 29er Expert, I can just not imagine it flying through rough terrain as smoothly and being as much fun. No doubt it will climb a bit better, but can you call the Scale 29er carbon a comfortable bike compared to a 29er dually? If I trade my Anthem 29er in for the carbon hardtail will I not miss the smooth flight over rough terrain? Or should I have both? (hijack off or something)
  13. Hey Vulgar do you have any Aspens in stock? (For me there is no comparison with SB8, the Aspen wins by far. The Ikon competes with the Ralph on the front and the Ralph just wins out for the front. Ikon on the rear is great for wet but I need something faster for the summer)
  14. Erm....I have Ralphs on now and is a great tyre, but on the rear it wears just a bit fast and is overkill in grip in the summer where I ride, I might just keep a Ralph on the front, but for the rear I want something even faster. I want to try the Aspen front and rear cause it is just super fast - Aspens roll faster than Ralphs, Ikons and Crossmarks. The perfect tyre for me would be an Aspen Exo set up tubeless, but these dont exist. I`m leaning towards Aspen rear with a lightweight tube, and a tubed Ralph or Aspen front. Any point in having a tubeless front and a tubed rear? If I could only lay my hands on a Stans Raven for the rear....
  15. The Pro and Expert is exactly the same frame, so R17k is a bit very steep for the frame only since the complete bike with some nice components go for R23k. The Niner Air Carbon frame goes for R11k, the Giant Carbon XTC frame will go for even less. The Scott is VERY nice though, probably my 1st choice, but not for 17k.
  16. Anyone with experience with the Renegades? They don`t seem to have much volume - 1.9 or something, and I am worried about them wearing fast on the rear...
  17. I have been running 26" light-weight Maxxis tubes with Scwalbe Racing Ralph tyres on my 29er. Now I am considering going tubeless, but I need even faster tyres. Yes I feel I can sacrifice some more grip. Its amazing how a 29" wheel can turn a xc race tyre into a semi-agressive medium grip tyre. I`m thinking Maxxis Aspen on the back or front and back, but there is no Exo version so I`m worried about going tubeless with Aspens, anyone tried this? Any other super-fast light tyres besides Aspens that can work good tubeless? I know about Stans Ravens but seems impossible to get hold of. The tyre should be: - Super low weight and rolling resistance - Durable in the rear - Possible to get hold of (where can I get hold of the tyres?) - Can go tubeless nicely If I can not aquire this tyre I will be forced to go Aspen with tubes and then the mtb gods will frown down upon me.
  18. Get a Scott Spark 50 or 60.
  19. Can`t go wrong with Shimano pedals and shoes or Sidi shoes. The more R the better they usually are. At first set the pedal to be as soft as possible to get your foot out. Try to ride around first just to get used to them. It is normal to fall in the beginning when you forget to twist your foot out sideways, but this happens when almost standing still so normally no harm done. When you are used to this the benefit is massive.
  20. Replace entire bike. The end.
  21. The CRC Ralph is only in stock in the massive 2.4 version, it weighs about 650g, it is a bit overkill for me the 2.25 is plenty volume but only a bit lighter. Get 2 Ikons (front and back) from CWC or 1 Ikon and then look around for a Ralph in shops or get one here buy a Ralph.
  22. I would not call a Niner an uncommon bike, where I ride they are common, if price is not a consideration and you want something special get a titanium bike.
  23. None of those. Try get a Racing Ralph Evo for the front and an Ikon Exo for the back.
  24. Nope not same, the Shine throws a wider beam, the Light`s beam is a bit narrower and further, otherwise much the same, the Shine a bit more lumens per R if you buy it from me. MagikShine 870 1000lumens for R1200.
