  1. I am happy to pay R355 for full road closure. Doing my third this year and hopefully improving on my first two times.
  2. Can't wait! It's our entire team's first 24hr. Going to have a lot of fun.
  3. Try this program, when I started phase 1 I could barely do 5 pull ups and by the end I did 21 consecutive pull ups. As I understand the pull ups work quite a few muscle groups in your upper body. Combine this with some plank exercises and push ups. Should take about 20 mins three times a week.
  4. You just convinced me to finally look up the nasal sprays I use for chronic sinus problems and I am glad to say they are not banned. Illiadin has saved me more than once waking up with completely blocked sinuses the morning before a race. This method I still have to test before deciding if it is worth the risk
  5. When I ride tar it will always be with my mtb as I only have one bike and I don't live somewhere in the bush where I have easy access to off-road riding without any tar inbetween.
  6. Agreed. Being a student I always end up taking my bike apart in the middle of a test week, it's much more fun than having to study.

    Rugby...

True, the Argies were poor but still you could see a definite difference between Fourie and Pienaar.

    Rugby...

If you watched the game, the answer to your question is quite clear. Fourie was absolutely brilliant.
  9. In that case I agree, it's kind of an ethics issue.
  10. I suppose it depends on what it is you bought. If you buy a bike which needs TLC and you fix it up you should be entitled to sell it for a profit.
  11. I am in jhb and had to wait just over three weeks for my 35T, it was worth the wait though. Definitely one of my new favourite gadgets.
  12. My collection needs one of these though, my father makes them.
  13. I have a few knives but I don't go anywhere without the topmost kershaw on the right.
  14. My dad has the same problem on his Trek Fuel ex5, not certain what brand and model brakes it is though. I haven't personally seen or felt what happens but it sounds as if the brakes don't open after releasing the brake lever and still creates friction on the discs.
  15. The bike that made me not want to take mine out of its box at the argus. (Samsung Galaxy SII)
  16. Just a snapshot from a visit to the farm a while bike.

    argus times

With the "6km to go" marker coming into sight and 3h29min on my clock I thought that my goal of 3h40 was definitely reachable, just needed to keep my speed at the 36km/h mark for a little longer. However, reaching the "6km to go" marker, I had to rethink my target somewhat. Both my legs completely cramped up, luckily there was no one behind me and I could pull over to the side of the road without causing a crash or pissing anybody off. At the end of the day I came in at 04:00:01 for my first argus, despite missing my target I had a great time on the road enjoying the scenery. Now I am targeting a rather crazy sounding sub3 for this year's 94.7
  18. I am going to try and join the sub3 club at the 94.7 this year, otherwise, two years time. I admit its a long shot as I could only manage 04:00:01 at my first argus this year but I guess only being in the saddle 6 times for 331km's the two months prior to the race, I couldn't have expected anything less.
  19. I'm taking it in later this week, seems it is not only the knob that went missing but a few springs came out as well. I wont be riding on it for now, don't want anything else to lose.
  20. Saw you as well. Must say, well done on that time! I know of a few guys that couldn't even manage a time under 5 hours on normal sized, geared bikes.
  21. My first as well. I'm extremely excited except for coming back and having to study for an exam on Monday morning, gonna be tough. Good luck to everyone!
  22. Hi, I somehow lost my lockout adjuster on my manitou Rseven shock whilst cycling today. What is the procedure to get it replaced, should I go to my lbs to order one or what would you guys suggest?
  23. As far as I know Johan Bornman at yellowsaddle does fork servicing.
  24. The distance in this one was a bit suspect, 85.7 miles but I found another one on the same site. Thanks for the help.
  25. Luckily on race day, with all the road closures(even for satellites) I'll still be able to enjoy the route on my bike.
