  1. I heard that it might be too blue?
  2. I throw my chain into a bottle with some prepsol diluted in warm water, shake it around and rinse afterwards. Works well, it's easy to dispose of and economical.
  3. To me it looks like a crack in the paint from a bump against something. Doesn't look to be in the area that carries the actual load/stress. IMO
  4. Probably didn't have a 100 to start off with...
  5. Thought this might be interesting, as well as serve as a training guideline for next year. What was your 94.7 Cycle Challenge 2013 time vs your time in the saddle the 30 days leading up to the event? My race time 03:29 Time in saddle 08:01 - Including the 55km mountain bike race (thanks to FitTrack) Definitely room for improvement from my side.
  6. Thoroughly enjoyed the race. Was 20 min late and started with R group in stead of M which wasn't really a biggie. Had to average 30kmph on the last section after the N14 to beat my PB of 3:29:44 and somehow I pulled it off coming in 7 seconds faster. I do however feel that I should spend more time in the saddle leading up to next year's event and get a professional bike setup then I might be able to come close to three hours. I was a bit disgusted at times with some of my fellow riders being unnecessarily rude to spectators and volunteers. There was a lady at the finish that had to walk with a plastic bag to clean up after people that just dropped their empty cans where they stood. Other than that had a great day. Congrats to everybody that finished.
  7. We did the rookie yesterday, we only started at 13:00 but had a lot of fun doing it in 1h30. Thinking of doing the next one and trying to do 1hr flat from an earlier staring group.

    Rugby...

Playing the incident in slow motion made it seem a lot worse than it was, if Messam didn't go to ground and complain it would probably have been missed. So sad that a game with a lot of potential had to end like this. At the end of the first half I really felt that we had a good chance but then I must also say that we were shocking under the high ball. I can't remember seeing Kirchner successfully catching one high ball.
  9. I emailed to ask if we can make fire in a weber and Walt said it was fine. I got a quick reply.
  10. I am happy to pay R355 for full road closure. Doing my third this year and hopefully improving on my first two times.
  11. Can't wait! It's our entire team's first 24hr. Going to have a lot of fun.
  12. Try this program, when I started phase 1 I could barely do 5 pull ups and by the end I did 21 consecutive pull ups. As I understand the pull ups work quite a few muscle groups in your upper body. Combine this with some plank exercises and push ups. Should take about 20 mins three times a week.
  13. You just convinced me to finally look up the nasal sprays I use for chronic sinus problems and I am glad to say they are not banned. Illiadin has saved me more than once waking up with completely blocked sinuses the morning before a race. This method I still have to test before deciding if it is worth the risk
  14. When I ride tar it will always be with my mtb as I only have one bike and I don't live somewhere in the bush where I have easy access to off-road riding without any tar inbetween.
  15. Agreed. Being a student I always end up taking my bike apart in the middle of a test week, it's much more fun than having to study.

    Rugby...

True, the Argies were poor but still you could see a definite difference between Fourie and Pienaar.

    Rugby...

If you watched the game, the answer to your question is quite clear. Fourie was absolutely brilliant.
  18. In that case I agree, it's kind of an ethics issue.
  19. I suppose it depends on what it is you bought. If you buy a bike which needs TLC and you fix it up you should be entitled to sell it for a profit.
  20. I am in jhb and had to wait just over three weeks for my 35T, it was worth the wait though. Definitely one of my new favourite gadgets.
  21. My collection needs one of these though, my father makes them.
  22. I have a few knives but I don't go anywhere without the topmost kershaw on the right.
  23. My dad has the same problem on his Trek Fuel ex5, not certain what brand and model brakes it is though. I haven't personally seen or felt what happens but it sounds as if the brakes don't open after releasing the brake lever and still creates friction on the discs.
  24. The bike that made me not want to take mine out of its box at the argus. (Samsung Galaxy SII)
  25. Just a snapshot from a visit to the farm a while bike.
