Polar still makes a good strap imo ... don't know if it's any better than any of the generic though. At the same price I'd get the Polar (which was the case the last time I needed to replace) otherwise I'd probably take a chance on the cheapest generic. With regards Ant+/BLE, suspect that's dependent on the transponder rather than the strap.

Agreed. Dependent on brand and specific model. Also dependent on the individual - height is but one measurement.

Be sure of your size ... I note that the Foil is a 56 and the Cannondale a 54.

This. 👆 Get the correct contact details from Jannis. There are multiple groups supported by PPA so possible that the contact/whatsapp details may have changed. Keep in mind that some groups may also just be slow to restart after winter. Their "Intermediate" group has definitely been riding weekly ... perhaps you could even consider jumping in there.

Tubeless road tyres, from a puncture perspective, are only as good as the sealant inside ... but that's a different conversation/thread. 🙃

Tacx, Scwalbe and Continental are probably the most common/popular. All should have a longer lifespan than what you've experienced. Are you set up correctly.? Too much pressure on the tyre perhaps.?

The issue I was having wasn't so much the traffic from behind, but when moving into the traffic lane to avoid runners and having an oncoming vehicle suddenly overtaking at high speed at the same time ... 🤬

Yesterday was the first time I had concerns on the Llandadnou - Green Point stretch returning from Chappies. ☹ The number of speeding vehicles overtaking while walkers and runners were inevitably pushing cyclists out into the traffic lane was scary. Be safe out there peeps.

Lots of opportunists out there ... take care everywhere if riding alone. I imagine it's less of an issue at any of the mentioned spots if in a group.
